Calaveras decorate cemeteries, altars, houses and corners in Mexico and has become a symbol of Mexican pop-culture. An authentic 100% Blue Weber Agave tequila made with traditional methods. Produced with fully matured agave from 50% Highlands and 50% Lowlands of Jalisco, slow-roasted in brick ovens before being slow-fermented, and extracted by roller press. The resulting liquid is double distilled and is additive free. The Los Azulejos Blanco Tequila has pleasant agave notes on the nose with a touch of smoke and aromas of jasmine, and herbaceous hints of thyme and mint. The palate is fresh, zesty, peppery and vegetal, with a hint of sugary sweetness and some peppery yet subtle floral notes. The finish is long, laced with honey & pepper. About 10 years have passed since the blue agaves in this tequila first stretched their leaves towards the hot Mexican sun, can you imagine? An agave must grow for 8 to 10 years before it can be harvested for tequila production. This is followed by the cooking process and then fermentation, which in turn takes several days. In 1999, Guillermo Erickson Sauza decided to bring back the old Sauza family distillery to life. Today he produces Tequila Fortaleza there using 100% stone-milled agave, entirely produced on the estate which lies right in the middle of the town of Tequila. Fortaleza Blanco Tequila is unaged. It has an amazingly soft texture and vegetal sweetness with a long and satisfying finish.
