Bushmills Single Malt Whiskey 16 year old is aged for 16 years in a combination of Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon-seasoned casks, then matured for several months in port wine barrels. The unique maturation process gives this single malt its distinct notes of juicy fruits, nuts and spice, as well as a hint of ruby redness. Its best enjoyed neat or over ice.

The Teeling 13-Year-Old Irish Single Grain consists of triple distilled Irish whiskey distilled predominantly from maize, initially matured for 9 years in ex-Bourbon barrels before being given extra maturation for over 4 years in ex-Bordeaux Red Wine casks and bottled at 50% ABV to capture all its natural flavour. This new, older expression of Teeling Single Grain also differs through its dual cask maturation. The initial Bourbon cask maturation produces a beautiful base of sweet vanilla and caramel with buttery oak, which is then complimented by the extra aging in the Bordeaux Red Wine casks, layering on a beautiful bouquet of red berry and soft orchard fruits with honey notes.

Aromas are big and robust with a touch of treacle toffee and sweet spice. This whiskey is full boded, it's dominate by praline, honey and caramelised fruits and toasted nuts. The finish is deep and is jammed with berries and dark chocolate.

The competition awarded Redbreast 12 an impressive 98 points, narrowly beating world whisky competitors from Australia, South Africa, Denmark, India, Taiwan and Switzerland, among many others. The judges said: “It starts with a gorgeous nose, a fantastic composition of aromas all complementing each other. Think of roasted coffee, toffee apples, malt and warm Christmas spices. The palate is bold but very elegant with a nice balance and all in order to a great finale with dried fruits, candied oranges and sweet spices.” For decades, serious whiskey drinkers drank Irish "blended" whiskey, mixing it with cola or adding a dash to coffee. But, John Hansell, editor and publisher of Malt Advocate magazine, says that's changing. Finishes crisp and dry with terrific length as the vanilla wafer biscuit again emerges followed by a late creme-caramel fade.
