Crafted from the estate's best Bordeaux-origin Cabernet Sauvignon grapes planted in 1985 on terra rossa soil and aims to rival Bordeaux First Growths. First Growth is only produced in vintages where fruit quality and varietal typicity is deemed to be exceptional. Fermented for 12 days and macerated for a further 28 in closed fermenters, the wine gained tannin structure and aging potential. Pressed into 80% new French oak barriques and matured for 18 months, developing fine-grained tannins and a tightly structured wine capable of improving over 20 years of cellaring. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 95 Block Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby red in colours and very perfumed. Ripe Cabernet fruitalongside smooth cedar Bright and fruit driven, the addition of Petit Verdot brings a slightly floral nature. Ample tannins. Smooth finish.

Fruit for this wine comes entirely from our ‘Abbey’ estate vineyard at the Parker Cellar Door, specifically the ‘95 Block’. The 95 Block sub-section of our vineyard is located west of the cellars and is planted with Reynell selection Cabernet Sauvignon. The last few releases of Brown Brothers Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon have put this firmly on the map of Australian benchmark Cabernets. It's colour already a great indication of a wine with depth, along with the complex aromas of blackcurrant, dark fruits and well integrated oak. The ripe fruits are very concentrated on the palate with distinctive fine tannins, hints of sweet spice and a lingering finish.
