Awash with aromatic pomegranate, tamarillo and fresh cherry notes on the nose. The palate has savoury notes of mocha melded with nutmeg and plummy fruit. Fine oak tannins complement weighty stewed plum, dark cherry and raspberry leaving a generous warm finish in the wine.

The Adelaide Hills is located in the Mount Lofty Ranges, east of Adelaide. One of the largest geographical wine regions in Australia, its diversity in terms of altitude, climate and soil helps it produce its distinctive cool climate wines. 2021 vintage was one of the greats. Excellent winter/spring rainfall, sunny warm spring followed by one of the mildest summers on record with only one day over 36 and beautiful mild evenings. This 93pt Kings' Creed Pinot Noir has a vibrant palate of dark berry, red currant and cherry with subtle hints of truffle, finishing with silky graceful tannins. A very seductive wine.

Winemaker Steve Grimley knows how to tell a good story. He's famous for his long yarns! And if we're lucky, one day he will sit down and tell us all about this cracking Pinot Noir. In the meantime, the incredible intensity and lavish fruit richness will have to suffice. With or without the story, this is amazing stuff!

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Spicy red to dark cherry aromas mix with hints of stalky cedar, earth and meaty notes. On the palate generous dark cherry fruits are intertwined with strawberry, earth, spicy dried meat characters and dried herbs. Good flesh with slightly grainy tannins and a savoury medium length conclusion. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Alc. 13.5%

Many a 'big cat' sighting has been made in the cool-climate Strathbogie Ranges leading some to believe in a rare and elusive Panther. Ex-Head RedHead, Alex Trescowthick has tamed another elusive black beast of sorts –Pinot Noir. The Bogie Panther exudes wild strawberry, cherry and savoury, earthy spice.

Enjoy a savoury-style Yarra Valley Pinot from the Hirsch family estate, with scores of 91, 92 & 93pts. Sam Kim, Wine Orbit finds it: "“Beautifully fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows ripe cherry, thyme, game, and nutmeg aromas, followed by a juicy palate offering fine texture backed by polished tannins, finishing long and pleasingly dry. 93pts” Ken Gargett, WinePilot enjoys its: "Attractive fragrances, but it is obvious we have taken the savoury road here. Dry herbs, mushrooms, forest floor notes, cherries, animal skins and beef stock hints are all present. There is juicy acidity, sleek tannins and medium length with the intensity maintained throughout. Those who appreciate the savouriness of Pinot will love this." Nicolas Potel’s Cuvée Réserve is as authentic as it is delicious. Quite a rarity at this more modest end of the price spectrum. The Times wrote: “When Nicolas Potel, son of Gérard, set up shop he was clearly destined for the top. What has surprised Burgundy watchers is how swiftly Potel Junior has hit the spot.” He founded Roche de Bellene in 2008, aiming to be Burgundy’s only ‘Haute Couture’ négociant. Key to this is his close work with growers to create wines focused on individual terroirs and precious old vines. This, his entry level red, is lavished with the same skill and professional pride as his illustrious Grands Crus and will appeal to beginners and experts alike. Supple, silky, bright and appealing.
