Oakridge Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Domaine Jean-Marc et Thomas Bouley Volnay Vieilles Vignes

Thomas Bouley is very much the insiders secret, more famous with his fellow vignerons than with collectors chasing the next 'superstar' seen on social media. That Thomas resists putting his name on the front label of his wines (preferring to keep his father's) is typical of his humble and low key approach. Based in Volnay may also add to his relative anonymity, however we suspect this is changing rapidly as word gets out of just how spectacular his wines are, and of the continual improvement seen since he began working with his father in the early 2000's. Meticulous attention to detail in both the vineyard and winery are notable here, and key to why Thomas is so highly regarded by his peers. Yields are moderate, and in the cellar whole cluster ferments are used more with his clay rich sites (Pommard Fremiers, Volnay Clos des Chenes), while those with thin white soils (Pommard Rugiens-Hauts, Volnay Caillerets) are largely destemmed. New oak use is minimal, and each wine spend two winters on fine lees before bottling.

Domaine du Pélican Arbois St Laurent Pinot Noir

Product Description: A pale red with serious intent—Jura in all its ethereal glory. Domaine du Pélican’s 2023 Poulsard is as beguiling as the grape itself: translucent in the glass yet full of energy, character, and gastronomic charm. Made from old vines across Arbois and Montigny-lès-Arsures, including parcels once tended by Jura icon Jacques Puffeney, this cuvée has become a staple of the estate since 2015. Vinified gently with full destemming and no punch-downs, then aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness, this is a wine that embraces its light hue and expressive aromatic profile. The 2023 vintage, shaped by a warm end to the season, delivers lifted red berries, rose petals, and earthy spice. Don’t let the colour fool you—there’s depth and precision beneath the surface. Best served slightly chilled, this Poulsard plays beautifully with charcuterie, mushroom risotto, or a classic roast quail. Also a joy to drink solo, when its gossamer touch and layered aromatics really shine. Tasting Notes NOSE – Bright and floral Strawberries, dried roses and a whiff of liquorice, underpinned by earthy spice and crushed herbs. PALATE – Silken and savoury Delicate yet vibrant, with cranberry and wild strawberry flavours, fine tannins, and subtle herbal lift. Bannockburn Olive Tree Hill Pinot Noir

Product Description: From the oldest Pinot Noir vines at Bannockburn, Olive Tree Hill is a study in patience and presence. First planted in 1976, these own-rooted MV6 vines are now approaching fifty years of age, producing naturally low yields of concentrated fruit. Year after year, the block delivers wines of depth, colour and structure, carrying the calm authority that only mature vines can offer. The 2024 release was handpicked, fully destemmed and fermented on skins for 10 days before resting in French oak hogsheads, 40% of them new. What emerges is a Pinot Noir both generous and grounded: red and dark fruits layered with spice, forest floor and a measured, old-vine power. Full and rounded, yet balanced with quiet persistence, Olive Tree Hill speaks with confidence of its history and place. Tasting Notes NOSE – Dark fruit & earth Red and black fruits lifted by spice and a savoury forest-floor note. PALATE – Concentrated & structured Rounded and full, showing depth, calm weight and old-vine power. FINISH – Settled & complete Firmly structured with length, balance and enduring presence. Bubb + Pooley WKR Vineyard Pinot Noir

Bubb+Pooley Wines is a venture born out of passion and expertise. Justin Bubb and Anna Pooley, both with over 20 years of experience in winemaking across the globe, have finally decided to release their own wines. After working with premium vineyards throughout Tasmania, they are now collaborating with exceptional vineyards and people across the state to produce wines that connect with their philosophy of making wine from the ground up. Their use of concrete vessels is not an experiment but a traditional style of vessel that has been used for centuries in the Old World. Each shape has been chosen specifically to enhance the texture of the varietal within them and these beautiful, handcrafted vessels will last lifetimes. At Bubb+Pooley Wines, sustainability threads through and underpins their approach to everything they do. All of their decisions are focused on how they can do things better in order to minimize their impact on the environment. Their wines are raw, expressive and speak of place. The Coal River Valley wine region is located in Clarence, Tasmania, just northeast of Hobart. It was named after the first village that discovered coal in the area. The majority of grapes are grown on northern slopes and the region produces high-quality Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon blanc. The cool climate alluvial and sandy soils with a high concentration of clay sandstone provide a unique terroir for the wines. Bubb + Pooley WKR Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022 is a high-quality wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from three vineyards in the Coal River Valley region of Tasmania, Australia. The Brinktop Vineyard in Sorell, the Pressing Matters vineyard in Richmond, and the Bubb + Pooley vineyard on White Kangaroo Road all contribute to the unique flavour profile of this wine. The grapes were carefully handpicked and wild-yeast fermented with 10% whole bunches over a period of 25 days. The wine was then matured for 9 months in a combination of concrete (30%) and French oak puncheons (70%), with 20% new oak. This maturation process has given the wine a complex and well-rounded flavour. One of the unique features of this wine is that it is bottled unfired, making it vegan friendly. This is because no animal products were used in the process of clarifying the wine. The Bubb + Pooley WKR Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022 is made from 22-year-old vines at the vineyard on White Kangaroo Road. This gives the wine a depth of character that can only come from mature vines. In the glass, the Bubb + Pooley WKR Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022 displays a vibrant ruby red hue, hinting at the wine's youthful freshness and vitality. As you bring the glass to your nose, a captivating bouquet of aromas unfolds. The first impression is one of ripe red cherries, intermingled with delicate notes of wild strawberries. These fruit-driven scents are complemented by subtle hints of baking spices, including clove and cinnamon, adding depth and complexity to the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine showcases a beautiful balance between fruitiness and elegance. Juicy red berries take centre stage, with ripe raspberries and cranberries leading the way. The tannins are velvety smooth, providing a luxurious mouthfeel that caresses the palate. Mid-palate, the wine reveals layers of complexity, with flavors of black tea and subtle earthiness emerging. These secondary notes lend a sense of depth and sophistication to the overall tasting experience. As the wine lingers on the palate, a touch of toasted oak and a whisper of vanilla come forward, contributing to a satisfying, lingering finish.
