Domaine de la Cras Montrecul Bourgogne Rouge
Product Description: City-owned land. Underground talent. A Bourgogne that defies its label. Domaine de la Cras ‘Montrecul’ Bourgogne Rouge 2022 is one of the most compelling red Burgundies coming out of Dijon right now. Farmed organically by Marc Soyard—an alum of Domaine Bizot—this single-site Pinot Noir is grown on a steep, limestone-rich slope at 300 metres altitude, just inside the city limits. The vineyard might be municipal, but the wine is anything but bureaucratic. Vinified with 70% whole bunches and native yeasts, and aged in older barrels with minimal SO2, Montrecul 2022 is light-footed but structured. Expect bright red cherry, dried herbs, and a lick of spice over fine, savoury tannins. It’s unfiltered, unfined, and unmistakably personal—this is Pinot with both energy and edge. Perfect with duck breast, grilled mushrooms, or a wedge of washed-rind cheese. Drink now with a light chill, or hold for 3–5 years. Tasting Notes NOSE – Lifted and herbal Wild cherry, crushed herbs, and a touch of spice. PALATE – Tense and savoury Bright red fruit, supple tannins, and underlying earthiness. FINISH – Mineral and pure Limestone grip and gentle length with a herbal echo. Domaine De Montille Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru
Domaine de Montille is one of the greatest Domaines in Burgundy and can be traced back to the middle of the 17th Century at Creancy with the Lords of Commeau. The lieu-dit known as 'Les Taillepieds' takes its name from its steep hill and the small, sharp gravel on which winegrowers 'slashed their feet' while digging into the earth.Highly defined, it a precise wine that shows floral and spice.
Giant Steps Primavera Vineyard Pinot Noir
This 20ha vineyard was planted on red clay loam soil at Woori Yallock in 2001 by Lou Primavera, with whom Giant Steps has a long-standing grape-supply relationship. Pinot Noir (114, MV6 and G8V3 clones) grown here on the north and north east facing slopes at 230m is noted for its complex structure and pronounced perfume. The 114 and MV6 are fermented as whole bunches in open vats, while the G8V3 is destemmed, given a long cold-soak and fermented separately to enhance its aromatic contribution. All ferments use indigenous yeasts and the whole-bunch components are periodically foot-stomped to release additional juice. The wines are pressed to 228 litre, French barriques (about 8% new) for 11 months before blending and bottling without fining or filtration.

Domaine Joseph Colin Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge
Product Description: Chassagne’s red side—light-handed, expressive, and quietly complex. Joseph Colin’s 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge is a study in subtlety and site. Sourced from two high-altitude parcels—Les Pierres and La Poirier du Clos—this is Pinot Noir planted in the late 1960s, grown on clay-limestone soils and farmed organically. The fruit is treated with minimal intervention: whole bunch pressed, no bâtonnage or fining, and only a whisper of sulphur at bottling. The wine opens with vivid wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry, backed by gentle dried herbs and tobacco leaf. Juicy, lifted and layered, it’s a style that sits comfortably in the Bourgogne rouge tradition, but with the detail and texture of Chassagne’s best lighter reds. Fermentation in 350-litre barrels and time in stainless before bottling lends polish without weight. Drink from now to 2027+ with a short decant. Roast lamb, mushroom dishes, or tomato-based pasta will meet it on the right terms. Tasting Notes NOSE – Wild and savoury Strawberry, raspberry, cherry with hints of dried herb and tobacco. PALATE – Juicy and lifted Red fruits, bright acidity and polished, smoky tannins. FINISH – Earthy and fine Gentle grip with lingering herbal and mineral tones. Reviews & Accolades “Juicy, enough fruit to cover the rougher edges of red Chassagne, very nicely made.” – Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy, 89–91 Points
