Awash with aromatic pomegranate, tamarillo and fresh cherry notes on the nose. The palate has savoury notes of mocha melded with nutmeg and plummy fruit. Fine oak tannins complement weighty stewed plum, dark cherry and raspberry leaving a generous warm finish in the wine.

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Spicy red to dark cherry aromas mix with hints of stalky cedar, earth and meaty notes. On the palate generous dark cherry fruits are intertwined with strawberry, earth, spicy dried meat characters and dried herbs. Good flesh with slightly grainy tannins and a savoury medium length conclusion. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Alc. 13.5%

This is Big Sky's flagship wine, from their low vigour, low cropping vineyard. It's made to show off the delicious Te Muna fruit characters - ripe berryfruit, dark cherries and plums – set against mouthfilling savoriness, warm spice, and silky tannins. Lithe and elegant.

Hand plunged in open fermenters, 30% whole bunch. 10 months maturation in 20% new French barriques, 80% seasoned French barriques. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.Ripe red cherries, some nutmeg spice. Aromatics lifted by subtle whole bunch fermentation plushness. Rich, structured palate.
