Vibrant ruby red, with some purple. Aromas of red fruits and spice - typical of the variety, are lifted and an immediately striking characteristic. On the palate, spicy and savoury Nero d’Avola is balanced with some solid Shiraz fruit sweetness and depth. Some characteristic crispness on the finish leaves no doubt as to the wine’s origin. Double Barrel Shiraz has a full and generous palate with a beguiling mix of sweet red fruits and dark chocolate indicative of its origins as Barossa Shiraz. Subtle toasty vanillin derives from aging in traditional French and American oak wine barrels. The careful use of aged Scotch whisky barrels for finishing has added complex nuances of almond-husks and also softened the dense tannins to yield an incredible smoothness.

A blend of 72% Grenache, 22% Mataro and 6% Shiraz matured in French oak for 10 months of varying ages. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a vibrant red hue. Spicy dark raspberry and red liquorice aromas mingle with fresh herb, graphite and pepper notes. Juicy dark raspberry, liquorice and dark cherry fruits flood the mouth with scorched earth and peppered herb elements lying underneath. Polished tannins finishing with good freshness, spice and plenty of succulence. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Alc. 14.2%
