Nick Spencer Wines is a small Canberra based wine company dedicated to producing exceptional, hand crafted wines that honour their local landscape. Producing award winning wines for nearly two decades, Nick’s passion and remarkable talent for considered, quality wines is evident in every bottle. Following four years at the famed University of Adelaide campus, Nick was awarded a degree in Oenology in 2000. Nick has worked for notable producers across the industry, including Rosemount, Coldstream Hills, Madew Wines, Tertini Wines, and led the team at Eden Road Wines for almost a decade before starting his own label with Nick Spencer Wines. A proud Australian wine maker, Nick is particularly passionate about the beautiful NSW regions of Gundagai and Tumbarumba. His winemaking expertise have been widely recognised by the industry, in 2009 Nick was honoured to win the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy. In 2011 Nick was a Len Evans Tutorial Scholar and a finalist in the Young Guns of Wine, that year he also won the National Wineshow Trophy for Best Shiraz. In 2014 Nick was a finalist in the Gourmet Traveller Wine Winemaker of the Year awards. His wines are regularly recognised by James Halliday, most recently being noted in the top ten best new wineries for 2019. A light, crisp and dry style of Rose made from Grenache, Sangiovese and Merlot grown in the Hilltops region of Southern New South Wales. Aromas of tangerine, red berries and fresh watermelon. The palate is is beautifully balanced and dry.

Jo Perry might well be the hardest working young winemaker in Australia. Since first doing vintage work at Cape Mentelle as a teenager, study at Charles Sturt University was followed by 7 vintages in Spain managing two wineries, 15+ vintages in France, New Zealand and the US not to mention the last 14 vintages in Margaret River. Yokels mascot it the beloved Western Swamp Tortoise whom is native to Swan River. They are also the most critically endangered reptile in Australia. With every bottle sold a portion of sales is donated to help the restoration of land, the breeding program at the Perth Zoo & recently have helped with relocation.

APPEARANCE: Pale and pretty in crystal-clear pink with orange undertones. AROMA: The nose is delicate and fruity with notes of white peach and apricot mixed with passion fruit and mango. PALATE: The taste is full, fresh and crisp with echoes of the fruity aroma amplified by citrus zest and sweet spices (cinnamon and cardamom). In 1896 Marcel Ott of Alsace found an estate which inspired him, Château de Selle in Tarandeau, Provence, where once olives, lavender and mulberries grew. Enjoying a unique microclimate, the wines are delicate and elegant with great depth. In the 1930s, Marcel Ott fell in love with the very old Clos Mireille, overlooking the sea at La Londe Les Maures, near Brégançon. The vines soon started producing distinctive yet subtle wines. Château Romassan in Bandol was acquired by the Ott family in 1956 and following years of terracing and replanting, produces robust, harmonious and long lived wines. Cur de Grain represents wine-making genius, and today the distinctive bottle evokes the memory of the elegant amphora of centuries past. Today, 120 years later, cousins Jean-François and Christian Ott dedicate their lives to their ancestors love for Provence. In 2004, Domaines Ott* joined Louis Roederer and its fabulous selection of wine craftsmen.

Minuty M Côtes de Provence Rosé is a pale and refreshing rosé in Provence pink this rosé is perfect for a summer’s day. Handpicked Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault grapes make up this distinctive and delicate wine. Minuty are one of only fourteen châteaux to be designated cru classé and this offering is indicative of its flair and finesse. Mas de Longchamp Bouches du Rhone Rose 2022 is a skillfully blended rosé that captures the essence of summer in the Mediterranean-style climate of the southern Rhône valley, close to Provence. The blend of selected Grenache and Caladoc grapes creates a characterful wine with a delightful bouquet of wild strawberries intertwined with hints of wild herbs and spice. Dry and crisp, this rosé exhibits a good texture and concentration, making it versatile enough to pair with lighter dishes or enjoy on its own as an apéritif. The wine undergoes a direct press and low-temperature fermentation, followed by maturation in tanks until bottling. Its beautiful pale colour, with rose petal reflections, is visually appealing. On the nose, it reveals enticing fruity aromas of peach, citrus and a subtle mineral earthiness. In the mouth, it is light, supple, and refreshingly addictive, showcasing plenty of character. The taste evolves towards a fruity finish, further enhancing the overall experience. With a blend of 40% Grenache and 60% Caladoc, this rosé brings together the best of both grape varieties. The Caladoc grape, a cross between Grenache and Malbec, adds extra fruitiness and spice to the wine, harmoniously complementing the Grenache. The result is a well-balanced and flavourful rosé that promises to please the palate.

The domaine's 50-60 year old Grenache vines guarantee the highest quality juice, while the fruit from the younger vines brings a refreshing element to the blend. To maintain the harmony of the land, a busy replanting schedule is in place, replacing up to 4 hectares of vines each year with new ones.
