APPEARANCE: Pale yellow gold in colour the Veuve Ambal Cremant de Bourgogne shows an exceptionally fine, persistent mousse. AROMA: The fruity bouquet shows enticing citrusy notes, with a hint of red fruits and some biscuity complexity. PALATE: The palate is elegant and harmonious, the finish long, crisp and dry.

The Cremant de Bourgogne Appellation Controllee has strict regulations related to production to guarantee a wine of the best quality. Pinot Noir, Gamay and a touch of Chardonnay Maison Veuve Ambal was founded in the heart of Burgundy in 1898, by Veuve Marie Ambal, widow of a Parisian banker. Marie returned to Rully to join her brother, wine lover and wine broker, at the time "method traditionelle" was being introduced for sparkling wines. The wines immediately gained recognition, and her grandson Charles Roux Ambal, followed by his grandson and current President Eric Piffaut, have continued to build on Marie's philosophy of quality, and the combination of tradition and modernity which is the signature of Veuve Ambal. With over 200 hectares of vineyards across Burgundy, mainly planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Veuve Ambal remain leaders in the production of Cremant de Bourgogne today.

Salmon blush. Aromas of strawberries and cream. On the palate hints of toffee apple and citrus with a creamy mouth feel. In 2012 Vanessa and Neville Bagot were visiting Vanessas beloved home state of Tasmania, when they were made aware that Barringwood Park Vineyard (as it was then called) was for sale. A single visit to the stunning site along with wine tasting captivated them. Perhaps it is too simplistic to say they liked the wine so much they bought the vineyard, but its not too far from the mark. The first vines at Barringwoods original Lower Barrington vineyard were planted on the site of a working sawmill in 1993. Vanessa and Neville have planted two new vineyards in Evandale and Cranbrook, in addition to the original Lower Barrington plantings. Barringwood Vineyard has one of the longest growing seasons in Tasmania giving their wines delicacy and elegance along with a classic backbone of cool climate acidity. Since the first vintage in 1998, Barringwoods multi award winning single vineyard wines have consistently been among Tasmanias best.
