The rugged and remote Eden Valley region is renowned for the production of pristine Riesling, and the iconic Mountadam winery is one of the top producers in the region.Pale lemon. This is classic Clare Riesling that has come directly from one of the finest exponents in this legendary, boutique Aussie hotspot. A very high quality, pristine Riesling, bursting with all those classic lemon, lime and floral notes.

From high-altitude vineyards in the beautiful Eden Valley - heaven for Riesling grapes. It shimmers with flinty, lipsmacking lemon and lime flavours - paradise in a glass.

The fruit was hand-picked in early April, the whole bunch pressed and allowed to briefly settle. This removes the heavy solids from the juice, whilst retaining many of the lighter solids that are a wonderful source of nutrient for the yeast. A small portion of the wine was fermented in large old oak vessels to add some further complexity to the wine. All of the juice was fermented by our natural wild yeasts and then racked off its lees at the end of fermentation. The wine was prepared for bottling without any further manipulation, other than filtration to retain the pristine character of our delicate Riesling. The nose of this wine shows lovely delicate floral aromatics that are typical of all Delatite Rieslings whilst the palate has layers of lemon rind and lemon blossom with fine talcy structure and a fresh acid finish. This wine can be drunk in its youth, but like all great Rieslings, it will age easily for ten years. Should be wonderful for up to twenty years, developing fabulous toasty honey characters, that Riesling is famous for.

Lovely fresh Riesling from the pioneering Seifried family estate, who set up in the super-sunny coastal region of Nelson in 1973 (way before most of Marlborough next door). In the 1970s Hermann Seifried, then a fresh-faced Austrian wine nut seeking adventure, travelled to New Zealand. It was a final stop-off on a world tour, mainly to see where the All Blacks came from. There he fell in love with a local primary school teacher, Agnes, and has never left. In 1973 the couple realised their shared dream – to plant a vineyard – and have since racked up a host of awards. Today their three children, Chris, Heidi and Anna, help run the property in Nelson – a region with over 2,400 hours of sunshine, it's the sunniest in New Zealand.

Intensely aromatic, showing white flowers, jasmine and fragrant lime. Tightly wound acidity underpins an incredible purity of fruit with fresh finger lime and lemon curd notes. Fine phenolic structure and wet stone minerality provide drive and a crisp, dry finish with great length.
