Riesling

Penfolds Bin 51 Riesling

Conceived as a white wine development program, the Bin 51 Riesling soon became one of Penfolds' star performers. Eden Valley is an obvious choice of region for Riesling due to the higher altitude and cool climate. The wine offers delicate aromas of fresh cut apples and pears with a twist of lemon and minerality towards the end. A great deal of fruits and acidity makes for an interesting white wine with propensity to age gracefully if carefully cellared.

Jacob's Creek Unvined Riesling

Atlas Section 32 Vermentino

he palate is fresh and crisp with delicate lime juice and mineral flavours, floral hints and tight acidity which gives the wine structure and length of flavour.

Bests Great West Riesling

A real insider's wine, Great Western produces aromatic, flavoursome yet structured and spectacularly age-worthy Rieslings which stand confidently alongside their more famous South Australian cousins. The Great Western region lends itself well to producing exceptional Riesling – its diurnal weather patterns (warm days / cold nights) work well for the varietal. Grown on the sandy loams of the Concongella Creek and the Rhymney Vineyard sites, and occasionally from selected local vineyards, Best's Riesling shows the intensity and finesse which are hallmarks of the Great Western region. The wine is made to show true varietal characteristics, achieved by letting the pristine fruit shine above all else. And while made to drink now, it will definitely age for many years to come. We can testify that Best's Great Western Rieslings from the 1970s are drinking superbly now!

Jim Barry 'Barry & Sons' Riesling

This great Clare Valley Riesling opens with lavender, pear and talc aromas. Juicy fruit continues on the palate adding some bruised apple, refreshing acidity, viscosity and mid palate weight. Ideal as an aperitif, with spicy cuisine or with most seafood dishes.

Chaffey Bros Not Your Grandma's Riesling

Not Your Grandmas Riesling has just a hint of residual sweetness which works just perfectly here. Fresh and floral, there's ample citrus and orchid fruits with perfectly balanced acidity for line and length. It works perfectly with or without food. Born and raised in the Barossa, Daniel started at the Penfolds cellar door, eventually co-founding a wine consultancy. Chaffey Bros. was born from Daniels dream to revive the name and the innovation of his great-great grandfather and his brother the original Chaffey brothers who founded Mildura in 1887. Together with his brother-in-law Theo Engela they now form the new iteration of Chaffey Bros. They love telling stories, and each of their wine labels reveals details about the vineyard, variety, region or history.

PN Riesling

Defined by a savouriness, stone and spice. Initial smoky reduction fades into a wild, mint-dominated herbal character. Richly textured and concentrated. Sunny rays of lemon and peach reveal a surprisingly approachable soul beneath the chiseled stony countenance.

Claymore One Lovely Day Riesling

There is a youthful restraint to the flavour profile of our One Lovely Day Riesling with promise of even greater things to come. The finish lingers with echoes of grapefruit and sherbet edge wrapped in appealing, gentle texture. Open and lifted, bursting with notes of lemon and lime juice and hints of jasmine; Exquisitely fine natural acid underpins a journey of juicy flavours in the mouth - imagine a burst of vibrant citrus of lemon pulp intensity, all intertwined with unmistakable minerality derived from the chalky soils of Watervale in the region of the Clare Valley.

Vickery Watervale Riesling

This wine from Vickery displays hallmark Watervale aromas showing pure Riesling characteristics of fresh lemon-lime citrus, floral honeysuckle and a creamy richness. The flavours are fresh lemon citrus, with soft mineral acidity supported by the persistent and mouth-watering finish. An absolute delight to drink in its first flush of youth, but will intrigue and reward with additional complexity upon cellaring for 5-20 years.

Devils Corner Riesling

An absolute standout and not just for its affordability! This riesling features gorgeously punchy, vibrant citrus character and trademark Tasmanian acidity giving it great backbone. Immensely drinkable, with lemons and lime character perfectly complemented by palate weight. A superb cool climate Tasmanian riesling. The untamed east coast of Tasmania is home to Devils Corner and attempting to tame this wild environment is chief winemaker Tom Wallace. Tom previously honed his skills completing vintages in California, Bordeaux and the Hunter Valley. He now does so at the Kayena Winery in the Tamar Valley where he oversees winemaking for Tamar Ridge, Pirie and Devils Corner. Given how well reviewed this riesling was, we can safely say hes doing an excellent job producing absolutely stunning cool climate wines. Fortunately for us and thanks to Toms efforts, you wont have to brave the wild to sample this award winner.
