Well known for his Barossa Valley Red wines, Kym Teusner is equally at home producing lifted aromatic white wines from hand selected vineyards high in the Eden Valley. His The Empress Riesling comes from a block near Keyneton (about 400m above sea level) and from the Southern Eden Valley adjacent to the High Eden. Both parcels are handled differently with the Keyneton handled oxidatively to had textural notes and shape and the Southern fruit kept clean to offer racing acidity and vibrant citrus notes. A perfect balance.

The wine-growing region Nahe is situated along the River Nahe in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Although the region was populated already in Roman times, the Nahe region was defined only in 1971 in the German wine law. Paradiesgarten is a special small appellation in the Nahe Valley near the village of Meddersheim, translated the word means "Garden of Eden/Paradise" due to the beautiful countryside

Made with a nod to the great wines of Germany and Austria, this bright sweet Riesling based wine is loaded with orange zest, lemon blossom. Luscious, sweet stone fruit and ripe apple flavours linger indefinitely, nourished by characteristic cool climate mineral acid. Perfectly matched with Lemon Curd tarts.

The wine is green and vibrant in appearance, with aromas of zesty lemon and grapefruit. An intense and generous palate, with lively citrus fruit and hints of talc. The wine finishes clean and dry with refreshing, long acidity. As is the case with all great Eden Valley Rieslings, mesh will age gracefully and reliably into a mature wine under the Stelvin closure.
