Just over 20 years ago, Claymore Wines was humbly established with small volumes of Grenache and Riesling from a single vineyard in Penwortham. Since then, the estate has grown to include additional varietals and 44 hectares across three additional vineyards in Watervale.

Poured into a wine glass, this white wine displays an exceptionally pale straw appearance which is accompanied by vibrant green hues. A swirl of the glass exhibits rich citrus and floral aromas with a touch of passionfruit. Spicy undertones complete the fruity nose and pave the way for a seamless palate which opens with pear and grapefruit flavours. Sherbet characters follow and the wine ends in a long finish, marked by citrus acidity. Enjoy this wine within 2 to 3 years from vintage to make the most of its youthful flavours. Alternately, it can be cellared for up to 15 years for more complex and toasty characters.

The grapes for this lipsmacking wine are grown in Orange, 950 metres above sea level. This crisp, cold, but sunny climate is the perfect place to grow Riesling. Low temperatures retain varietal vibrancy and minerality while the sunshine drives the production of rich tropical fruit, resulting in a wine of immense flavour and character.

Enjoy a Tassie organic Riesling with lovely intensity of flavour with a seam of minerality, from 25-year-old vines planted in deep sandy granite soils. It comes from Tamar Valley's Small Wonder winery. Small Wonder came into being in 2020 on the site of the old Goaty Hill winery in the Tamar Valley. Viticulturalist Wayne Nunn and consultant Dylan Grigg oversaw the transformation to Organic certification in 2022, and the building of a state-of-the-art winery in 2024. Today winemaker Ockie Myburgh is at the helm.

"It's finely scented on the nose, revealing lime cordial, green apple, lemon zest, and wet limestone nuances, followed by a finely flowing palate that's focused and persistent. For Ray Jordan it is "… a slightly riper and more generous style of riesling, especially on the nose, where you pick up more opulent notes of stone fruit and a little honey-like nectar. Yet the palate tightens up as it should, revealing a minerally, spicy character, with citrus tangs building. It has a fine talcy acidity and the flavour and palate are long. It’s a nice wine, especially in the medium term. 91pts". Phil Shilcock and Michelle Gray purchased the former Montgomery’s Hill in October 2017 and launched the Monty’s Leap brand. The mature vineyard (planted in 1996) is planted on the banks of the Kalgan River, 16km northeast of Albany.
