Leeuwin Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon

Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon

Langton's Classification: Exceptional

One of Australia's icon wines, this is Cabernet at its very best. This wine is the very definition of power and elegance. Hand crafted by Keith Mugford and his team in the Margaret River, Moss Wood deservedly fits in the Exceptional category of Langton's Classification of Australian Wine.

Deep Woods Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Langton's Classification: Excellent

Representing the pinnacle of any given vintage, the Deep Woods Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from the very low yielding original vines on the estate in the Yallingup region of Margaret River and a single growers vineyard in the Yallingup hills. The palate is layered with complex and generous varietal flavours, supported by interwoven French oak characters and a savoury complexity. This is an exceptional Cabernet that will age gracefully will careful cellaring.

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Shiraz

Leeuwin's Art Label Shiraz has quickly established itself as one of Margaret River's best examples of the variety. Aromas of pepper and dark berry fruit are followed by a palate of length and class.

Xanadu Stevens Road Chardonnay

Henschke Apple Tree Bench Shiraz Cabernet

Deep crimson in colour. Spicy aromas of Satsuma plums, blueberries, crushed mulberries, blackberries and blackcurrants are complemented beautifully by savoury notes of cardamom, bay leaf and licorice. Rich, succulent plum and blue and black berry fruits fill the palate and entwine with black pepper, bay leaf and anise, while plush layers of soft, supple tannins and a savoury line of flavour provide for a firm and well structured mid-palate, and long, fine finish.

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Langton's Classification: Outstanding

"Reticent. Firmly structured. Southern Margaret River across its verdant veins. Lathered in classy oak (23 months' ageing in all), this needs time to liberate itself from its structural carapace. The intensity, however, cannot be denied. Cassis, dried sage, plum and a herbal potpourri mingle within. The sappy length and emerging layers with time in the glass, all bode for a bright future ahead...93 points" (Halliday)

Cape Mentelle Shiraz

Margaret River is an under appreciated region for Australian Shiraz, and it's hard to see why with Cape Mentelle's Shiraz showing a vibrant core of blueberry, mulberry and hints of raspberry. It is well balanced with cocoa and savoury oak. The palate yet, is fine, elegant and focussed, finishing with chalky and structural tannins.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate Childs Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Another string to their 'Single Vineyard' bow, Wynns reinvested in the Child's vineyard in 2009 - elevating the fruit there from its traditional supporting role in other premium releases (including John Riddoch and Black Label) to having a dedicated bottling of its own. McLaren Vale III Associates Renaissance Merlot Cabernet Petit Verdot

A lovely approachable wine from the guys at III Associates. Plum flavours drive the wine with a soft, plush mouth feel and intergrated tannins. Lovely toasty oak is also prevalent with nice blending of the Cabernet fruit.
