Domaine Henri Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin Champerrier A relatively new cuvée, 2013 the first vintage of this wine. Situated close to Chambertin, Clos de Beze and Mazis-Chambertin, this vineyard is planted to old vines and Henri Magnien makes a mere 1200 bottles made. Champerrier has unusually rocky soils for Gevrey-Chambertin and this is evident in the wine with its minerality and elegance in with all that usual tannic structure. With the oldest records dating back to 1220, it took until 1872 for Bouchard to finally acquire all of the parcels of this 3.36ha Beaune monopole. Depending on the vintage not all the fruit is totally destemmed and the wine is matured in French oak for 12 months with 30-40% new wood. Always well priced and approachable in its youth it will also reward 5-10 years cellaring.

Domaine Lamy-Pillot 1er Cru Morgeot, Chassagne-Montrachet Domaine Lamy-Pillot is a small family-run winery, established in 1973, which counts as relatively youthful for the region. The wines of Lamy-Pillot are consistent and drinkable in the very best sense. The 1er Cru Chassagne-Montrachet is made with Pinot Noir fruit from vines planted in 1976, just three years after the establishment of the Domaine. It is aged for 12-18 months in barrel, 25% new oak. Closed in its youth, there is plenty of opportunity for ageing here. You will smell red forest fruits and light spice, with a balanced palate recalling raspberry, white pepper, slight smokiness, and whispers of oak.

A powerful bouquet with mixed ripe red fruits, Perrier Jouët Blason Rosé is a full bodied and structured wine with hints of violet and rose petal on the nose. Brings a pleasant savoury finish on the palate.
