The Balnaves Coonawarra Vineyard was established in 1975 and is situated at the southern end of the Coonawarra Terra Rossa strip. The Balnaves family arrived in the region in 1855 from Paisley, Scotland and opened their first general store in Penola in 1858.Balnaves have used Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make this modern Sparkling red. This wine is a blend of complex and elegant parcels from ten vintages of reserve wines, matured in a solera system.Rich and complex with cassis, blackberry and violet, combined with mature Coonawarra Cabernet characters of chocolate, leather and truffle. Ready to drink on release, this wine will gain complexity and softness with careful cellaring.

Wynns is in the fortunate position to have holdings of some of Coonawarra's oldest Shiraz vines and coupled with recent plantings in the 1990s, Wynns now have fruit that is worthy of its own place amongst the Wynns elite. Enter Wynns Black Label Shiraz - with a dense, dark nose of pepper, mulberries and distinctive florals that are the perfect gateway to a palate that is rich and complex. Flavours of layered red berry, spice and chocolate with tight, focused tannins that will see the Black Label Shiraz become another Wynns favourite.

The wine is gorgeously fruited and fragrant on the nose showing dark fruit richness with smoked game, vanilla, chocolate tart and cedar characters. The palate is concentrated and wonderfully weighted, delivering fabulous fruit intensity and stylish oak infusion, backed by fine chalky tannins, finishing superbly long and sturdy. The 2014 vintage shows a lovely deep purple colour. Soft, supple and stylish are just three words to describe this beautiful wine. Full bodied and vinous on the palate with flavours of red and black fruit. The finish is a perfect example of a wine with character and breeding.

Aromatic dark fruits of mulberry and black plum. A complex and layered palate of primary mulberry and blackberry supported by black olive and dark chocolate with the gentlest hint of toasty french oak. Estate grown from the spectacular hillside vineyard in the Ferguson Valley of the Geographe wine region, fruit is sourced predominately from the Blinman block which was planted in 1998. Soil is typically a deep layer of ironstone gravelly loam over red and yellow friable clay with slight westerly aspects at elevations of 220 to 250m above sea level. The Coat of Arms is an expression of the deep dark fruit characters we attain from the Ferguson region, rich and smooth with lashings of chocolate, entwined with secondary characters of oak and black olive. Winemaking technique enhances the aromatic and flavour profile of the varieties whilst maintaining a long fine tannin structure. Maturation adds further layers.
