Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Five-Malt Stouted Mash Whiskey

In the 1830’s our Woodford County distillery was the setting for a series of discoveries and innovative practices that today define the bourbon industry. Today that pioneering and innovative tradition is embodied in the Woodford Reserve Distillery's Master's Collection. A tradition beginning when Master Distiller James Crow joined distillery owner Oscar Pepper to create the first true Kentucky bourbon whiskies. For this 2021 Master’s Collection release Master Distiller Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller, Elizabeth McCall have drawn upon that rich history and their own interests for inspiration. In Kentucky, a fermented grain mash is traditionally called “distiller’s beer”. Distillation converts this “beer” into a spirit that will become a “Whiskey” once barrelled. The result is the Fall 2021 Master’s Collection release named Five-Malt Stouted Mash, a rich and darkly robust expression of Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey. A nose of roasted malt, toasted nuts, chocolate and orange leads to warm oak, cherry and shortbread. The pallet is malty with toasted hazelnut and cocoa highlights atop a layer of baked fruit, crisp spice and zest bounce about the depths and more malt and chocolate notes to finish.

Flavors include sesame, tobacco leaf and cacao, with a honeyed, deep fiery malt finish.

Maker's Mark Star Hill Farm Bourbon Whiskey ( Release)

Product Description: Maker’s Mark Star Hill Farm Bourbon Whiskey 2025 Release represents a significant and thoughtful departure from the distillery’s traditional bourbon style. Crafted at the historic Star Hill Farm in Kentucky, this limited annual release focuses on a wheat-forward mash bill, highlighting estate-grown soft red winter wheat and malted barley rather than the classic corn-dominant approach. Aged for approximately seven to eight years, the whiskey is bottled at natural cask strength, allowing its full character and texture to remain intact. The 2025 release showcases depth, warmth and complexity while retaining the soft, rounded profile for which Maker’s Mark is known. Aromatically, it signals richness and generosity, with layered sweetness and grain-driven nuance. On the palate, the whiskey delivers a creamy, expansive mouthfeel, balancing intensity with refinement despite its elevated alcohol level. Oak influence is present but measured, framing rather than dominating the core flavours. The structure and length suggest careful maturation and deliberate blending decisions. This release reflects Maker’s Mark’s ongoing commitment to innovation rooted in place, offering a distinctive expression that bridges tradition and experimentation. Tasting Notes NOSE – Rich and expressive Aromas of caramel, honeyed grain and dried fruit emerge alongside baking spice, warm vanilla and subtle toasted oak.
