The friends in this French Alsace style blend are 'aromatic varieties', probably riesling and gewurztraminer. The colour is pale, the bouquet is sweetly fragrant and floral. A dab of sweetness, full, rich and satisfying.

La Boheme Act One Opera Singer and Yarra Valley diva, Dame Nellie Melba, played the part if Mimi in 'La Boheme' based in the Latin Quarter of Paris in the 1800s. There were four acts in the opera, the last ending, as usual, in tragedy. Act 1 sets the scene for the characters; filtration, moonlight, impoverished artisans, working girls, embroidered flowers and of course, the anticipation of summer. This aromatic and cheeky Riesling with some interesting charcters of Pinot Girls and Gewitztraminer thrown in, conjures up a similar feel. Perfumed, textural, delicious.

The Tate family are one of the most famous wine names in Western Australia, especially in Margaret River. It was the Tate family who began Evans & Tate decades ago and today the Tate name is re-born under the Franklin Tate Estates label.
