La Boheme Act One Opera Singer and Yarra Valley diva, Dame Nellie Melba, played the part if Mimi in 'La Boheme' based in the Latin Quarter of Paris in the 1800s. There were four acts in the opera, the last ending, as usual, in tragedy. Act 1 sets the scene for the characters; filtration, moonlight, impoverished artisans, working girls, embroidered flowers and of course, the anticipation of summer. This aromatic and cheeky Riesling with some interesting charcters of Pinot Girls and Gewitztraminer thrown in, conjures up a similar feel. Perfumed, textural, delicious.

Pear and citrus fruits are complimented by subtle characters gained from lees contact to create a complex and refreshing Pinot Gris.

The Yarra Valley is one of the heavyweight regions for Australian Chardonnay, with finesse and length of flavour the hallmarks of the regional style. In the glass: Pale lemon green. On the nose: Apple, grapefruit, oatmeal and almond aromas. On the palate: Fine, elegant and poised yet with power and drive and a delicious core of white and yellow fruits.
