Alkina Kin Birdsong Shiraz

Alkina Kin Birdsong Shiraz, Barossa Valley Birdsong is a medium to full-bodied Shiraz with a lifted aroma of mulberry, plum and spice, backed by an autumnal, earthy note. The cooler, gentler expression of Alkina Shiraz, it's made from organic and biodynamic fruits creating a delicious Barossa red. The Alkina Kin range enables the team to develop releases that celebrate local artists whose work features on their stunning labels.

Utopos Shiraz

UTOPOS Shiraz, Barossa Valley Utopos is a project by Kym Teusner (Teusner wines) and Neil Panuja, making distinctly Barossan wines out of their vineyard. It is named Utopos in reference to the root word of Utopia, indicating just how special this vineyard is. The Shiraz is a blend or 90% Shiraz and 10% Mararo (from vines planted between 1974 and 2000), aged in 40% new French oak hogsheads for 24 months. The result is an incredibly concentrated, deep wine, luscious and smooth on the palate, with brilliant balance and length.

Laughing Jack Barossa Valley Moppa Hill Block Shiraz

This superb single-vineyard Shiraz is sourced from a six-acre plot that was replanted in 2001. Sadly, the original 1912 vineyard was ripped out in the mid-1980s thanks to the SA governments now-notorious vine pull scheme. Here in the Moppa sub-region the grapes grow on sandier soils than in Greenock (a mere 2km away as the crow flies) producing more perfumed wines with finer tannins. This release is no exception. The fruit was harvested on the 22nd of February and was 100% de-stemmed. The whole berries were sent to small open-top fermenters, and were hand-plunged three times per day. After 18 days on skins the wine was basket pressed into barrel. The wine rested for 20 months in French (25% new) and American hogsheads.

A fantastic 2018 Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, made from 50 year old vines, Thomas white's best signature collection. Basket pressed and aged in seasoned French oak. The fragrant bouquet shows blackberry, mulberry, vanilla oak and cake spice aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate that's plump and flavoursome.
