Giant Steps Sexton Vineyard Pinot Noir

Giant Steps is a complex Pinot Noir with terrific varietal character. The nose shows rose petal, dark cherry and tomato leaf aromas and the palate is fleshy but tight, with savoury, dusty notes and silky tannins.

De Bortoli Lusatia Pinot Noir

Bright, medium red. Exotic dark fruits, spice and flowers. Sweet grilled meats, ample flavours, tautly structural, good dimension, fine tannins. Located at Woori Yallock in the upper reaches of the Yarra Valley. Extraordinary north facing De Bortoli family owned vineyard. Planted in 1985, close vine spacing, lots of manual work in the vines, deep red basalt soils. Typically produces fine, aromatic and charming Pinot Noir.Hand picked and sorted to ensure perfect fruit reaches the fermenter. A combination of whole berry fermentation and whole bunches. Pressed after 16 days on skins. Matured on fine lees in new and used casks for 8 months. Gravity at all stages. Bottled in January, 2019. One of Australia's more dynamic family wine businesses, De Bortoli wines is now in it's third generation, having been first established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928 with the business then driven by their son Deen De Bortoli and now third generation Darren De Bortoli alongside his sister Leanne and her husband, De Bortoli Chief Winemaker Steve Webber. De Bortoli wines has been historically based at Bilbul (near Griffith) in the NSW Riverina, but more recently they have expanded into the Yarra Valley (where Leanne and Steve Webber are based), the Hunter Valley and also into Victoria's King Valley. The emphasis in all of the vineyards has always been upon innovation, with De Bortoli credited with the creation of Australia's most famous dessert wine, the Noble One. The De Bortoli winemaking philosophy is that great wine begins in the vineyard. Their belief is that sustainable vineyard practices will deliver exceptional fruit quality to the winery as well as real environmental benefits. With a focus on careful site selection, vine maturity, high input viticulture and a move towards biological farming principles, De Bortoli Wines are also focusing more and more on single vineyard wines and the expression of specific terroir through their wine. Yarra Yering Dry Red Wine No.2 Yarra Valley Shiraz One of three wines from Yarra Yering featured in the original 1990 Langtons Classification, Dry Red No. 2 is recognised as the first Côte Rôtie style wine made by anyone in Australia. Its fruit is sourced from 1973 plantings of Shiraz, often backed by small amounts of Mataro, Marsanne and Viognier. Levantine Hill Syrah

Levantine Hill Syrah has lifted complex aromas of dusty red berries, musk, cardamom and white pepper and vanillin oak. The elegant medium-bodied palate abounds with spice and earthy nuances in a concentration of savouriness. The silky ripe tannins have been deftly integrated with the underlying oak providing carriage for the fruit weight and lingering flavours to a pronounced and persistent finish.

Terra Felix Premium Yarra Valley Shiraz

4 1/2 stars Wine State & 95 points Wine Showcase Magazine. An elegant Shiraz garnet in colour, Black cherry and plum aromas with subtle oak spice. The palate showcases dark berry fruits and subtle spice flavours, guided by well-structured tannins ensuring a long, lingering finish.

Oakridge Wines 864 Syrah

The 864 range features exceptional wines from specific and single blocks, produced in small quantities and released in only the best years. An Oakridge 864 wine is terroir-driven, made to demonstrate the importance of time and place with every bottle, and always a tribute to tradition. The 864 Syrah is sourced from the Oakridge Vineyard, Close Planted Block. This vineyard is east-facing at 120 metres above sea level. Planted at 5,200 plants per hectare in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream using the R6VW28 clone and cropped at 6.7 t/Ha. The wine is vibrant purple in appearance with a ruby hue. Opulently fruited on the nose, with aroma of dragonfruit, blueberry and plum leading to notes of cassis. Elements of black olive, green pepper, bunch spice and toast add complexity. The palate is expansive, textural and concentrated with a generous core of blue and purple berried fruits, long chains of plush velvety tannins are intricately woven within the fruit providing length and supportive structure. A subtle line of acid keeps the wine on point, never wavering. Pure, succulent and refined from start to finish.

Yering Station Shiraz Viog

Spicy cool climate Shiraz is fermented with whole bunches of a small portion of the white Viognier grape to produce this elegant style. Attractive floral notes of white flowers and peach blossom are enhanced by French oak and Rhone-like pepper and spice on the palate. Time in our cellaring programme has buffed the 2014 wine to a very smooth finish.
