Peter Drayton and team are really delivering across their range, especially the regional staples of Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon, and this beautifully made Verdelho.Bright and pale. Subtle tropical fruit lift with dried herb, oyster shell and mineral notes. Refined yet generous with tropical fruit and citrus blossom hints, subtle spice with lime-like acidity, lovely texture, and good length and persistence.

An early ripening grape perfectly suited to the warm climate of the lower Hunter Valley. The small berries retain their acidity and produce fragrant white wines with intense flavour. the cool 2022 vintage has produced a beautifully aromatic wine with tropical fruit and refreshing natural acidity.

Grassy, floral, herbal. The palate is light and frisky. You can see the two varieties coming through on the palate. Semillon adding honeysuckle and lemon, the Vermentino, adding to this, with a saline quality as well. A glass of this and some fish and chips, and you are in heaven.

It's a bit of a mouthful to pronounce, but this stunning Hunter Valley Chardonnay has subtle aromas of vanillin oak and melon, with a hint of green pear.
