Amelia Park Chardonnay
It has a lovely bouquet of white peach and pear with hints of honey and nougat. This chardonnay is 100% wild fermented and matured in French oak for nine months. The palate is soft with fresh tropical fruit flavours, finishing with citrus and chalky minerality. All three parcels were hand-picked on the same day and chilled overnight. The following day the grapes were tipped as whole bunches directly into our press and gently pressed off into a tank. Natural settling occurred overnight and the cloudy juice was then sent to French oak barrels twenty-four hours later. Wild fermentation was completed in a barrel and allowed to mature on its own lees for nine months, with minimal stirring during this time, to maintain freshness and natural acidity. It's beautifully weighted in the mouth, displaying a finely flowing mouthfeel backed by bright acidity, finishing long and refined.” (Wine Orbit). Vinaceous is a dynamic, somewhat quirky enterprise utilising colourful names and labels and excellent fruit usually from Western Australia’s Margaret River and Great Southern. “The wines (from Vinaceous) are of seriously good quality and equally good value” says Halliday.
