Limeburners Darkest Winter Single Malt Whisky

This Single Malt Whisky uses peat collected by hand from the deepest darkest parts of the Valley of the Giants in WA. The barley was smoked for an extended period, resulting in a heavier, more intense style of whisky ideally suited for darkest winter. This whisky was matured in an ex-bourbon American Oak cask. Exhibits spice and floral aromas when neat and a splash of water unleashes malted barley and intense complex smokey aromas.

A light engaging whisky with fragrant aromas, it was double distilled and is non-chill filtered to retain depth of character. Colour Rich dark golden. Nose Bright fragrant aromas with hints of vanilla, honey and pears. Taste A surprisingly gentle mouthfeel with subtle sweet bourbon notes, vanilla, honey and green fruit. Cinnamon spice joins the fray late in the game. Finish A pleasant, creamy, tongue coating finish.
