Strikingly vivid in colour with deep purple and magenta. There are energetic aromatics showing fresh, pure expression of fruit. Aromas of violets, dark rose, sweet plum, spice, licorice and fruitcake emanate from the glass. The palate is bursting with rich and bright dark fruit flavours. Well structured, with natural tannins providing a muscular framework the wine is full in body, flavour and mouth feel. A touch of creaminess leads to a lengthy finish completing this resplendent wine. The Pepperjack wines are rich and honest - showcasing the Barossas outstanding qualities. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, black currants and plums with mint and varietal leafy tones. The palate is rich and flavoursome, full of plush, dark fruit with some savouriness and hints of oak. The tannins are soft. Generous length and balance finishing rich and soft.

Hand-crafted using small parcels of premium fruit, The Old Dog Shiraz is an uncompromising marriage of both elegance and strength. The exceptional structure of the palate delivers full bodied flavours of rich plum, dark fruits, chocolate and liquorice, finished with impeccably polished tannins that balance the natural fruit acid nicely. John Harris (renowned winemaker behind the Shanahans label) has crafted some serious Shiraz.

If you love your big, bold and brash Barossa Shiraz, then look no further. Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz produce wine of utmost power and strength. Their Gnarly Dudes is a perfect example. Bold black and blue fruits dominate with a healthy smattering of oak to hold everything in place. Sumptuous!

2015 ’Pantelis’ Cabernet Sauvignon The Pantelis Cabernet Sauvignon is our signature wine and bears the name of the family patriarch. Pantelis Zachopoulos (1927-1998) immigrated to Australia from Greece in 1966 with his wife Olga and four children. His diverse agricultural knowledge was passed onto his children Michael, Nicholas and myself [Zissis]. In 1998 a few months before his passing we purchased and began establishing our vineyard in the Barossa Ranges. I decided to make this wine in his honor as a token of our appreciation for everything he has taught us. The wine has dark rich fruits, plum and blackcurrant with a touch of typical Cabernet herbaceousness on the nose. The palate is long and full with lovely dark chocolate, Mocca and cassis favours.

Head Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. It focuses on single site Rhône varietals from the Barossa and Eden Valleys in South Australia. Head Red is a barrel cull from Barossa vineyards including 'The Blonde', 'The Brunette' and The Contrarian single vineyard Shiraz wines. It allows a pre-view of the vintage quality to come and keeps the quality of the Single vineyard wines as high as possible. The wine receives 12 months barrel age in predominantly older French hogsheads allowing the vintage and terroir to show clearly. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Juveniles is a unoaked blend produced from old vines. Fragrant intense and concentrated it has flavours of blackberry, earth and Asian spices. The length and texture make this great drinking now.

"Skilfully made, pushing the boundary of ripeness to a point where the richness of the Barossa (and shiraz) is expressed without becoming overdone.
