Meet Patronus - a luxuriously decadent and intense Barossa Shiraz made the old-fashioned way. Intense lifted spicy characters drape across the gently baked plum, and raspberry compote aromas, with gentle wafts of cedar and smoked game.

This is a full bodied wine with a hint of pepper on the palate. It is filled with fresh ripe berry fruit characters balanced by soft toasty oak.

Kevin McKay’s aim is to focus attention to detail and build complexity into his wines from the ground up. As he says,“We want our wines to consistently reflect the premium fruit grown in the Margaret River region.” This expressive Shiraz delivers all that – and more! Perfumed with spice, pepper, chocolate, plum and boysenberry with underlying violet notes and cedary oak richness.

Forester Estate is owned by Vignerons Kevin and Jenny McKay. It’s situated in Yallingup, in the northern Margaret River region. Kevin’s motto is to build complexity and texture into his wines literally from the ground up! The superb wines are made by Todd Payne who has had “a distinguished career, starting in the Great Southern, then the Napa, Plantagenet, Esk Valley in Hawke’s Bay, and on to the Northern Rhône” (Halliday). This is a beautifully expressive wine. Inky, rich and herbal Cabernet melds with plummy, velvety, mouthfilling Merlot to create a really layered and complex wine you want to keep on sipping.
