Apostles Wines Saltbush Durif
During the 1920's, Clydesdale horses were used to distribute water from the main canal to the surrounding landscape of the Riverina. Stables were placed on the corner of Apostles and Moon Roads and at night the Apostles birds would roost in the stables, sharing the horses' food and bed for the evening. Today the Apostles Wines Estate is nestled here and the canal is still the region's lifeline. Our wonderful Durif grapes thrive here, surrounded by native Saltbush. It marries well with Osso Bucco, rich cheeses, steak or a Sunday roast.
De Bortoli Deen Vat 1 Durif
While Durif is not widely grown in Australia but has a loyal following nonetheless. De Bortoli Deen Vat 1 is an excellent example, showing typically deep colour and lots of rich, ripe fruit supported by firm tannins. Perfect when paired with a thick cut steak and roasted vegetables.
Dark Corner Durif Shiraz
David Joeky marries deep, black Durif and smooth spicy Shiraz to produce a darker, denser, profound red. As he says: “Magical things happen when Shiraz and Durif come together” . His Dark Corner bears that out to delicious perfection. The result? It's almost as dark as the corner in which it was made, a wine to stain your palate, and once tasted, you’ll be hooked. Ripe and mouthfilling, with blackberry, plum berry fruit and mocha flavours with a smooth, creamy texture
