This attractive Rose was given its seductive pink hue after the juice made gentle contact with Merlot grape skins. It has vibrant raspberry and cherry aromas with a hint of blackcurrant. The palate is light, crisp and clean. Consume slightly chilled, with good friends and a wide range of cuisines.

Vibrant toffee apple red, displaying delicate rose water and Turkish delight aromas with a hint of savory spice. The palate I complex with dark fruit and spicy rose water characters and lingers with a smooth yet refreshing spicy finish.

Translucent cherry color. The nose offers up aromas of ripe cherries, plum juice and pomegranate with spice endnotes. Flavors of sweet cherries intermix with pomegranate and plum juice followed by some spice on the medium dry finish. Brisk acidity with an aftertaste of sweet cherries, plum juice, pomegranate, and light spice.

The soils here are rich in limestone and quick draining, which concentrates the rich flavours of the grapes. The result here is a lavishly rich and expressive wine that definitely impresses. Affentals unique name derives from a pilgrimage chapel, which stood near the grapevines. In support of the pilgrims Ave Maria the valley was known as Ave Tal (Ave Valley) in the local vernacular, from which todays Affental (Valley of the monkeys) evolved. The origin of the Affental Wine Cooperative dates back to the year 1908. At the time, 24 winegrowers founded the Natural Winegrowing Association of Affental. From this, todays Affental Viticultural Cooperative was created over the years with approximately 240 hectares of vineyards. The nose is vibrant with lifted aromas of spring and summer red fruits; raspberries, strawberries, cherries with hints of rose petal and Turkish delight. The palate is rich with flavours of maraschino cherries, balanced with delicate hints of rose water. The natural fruit sweetness of this wine is balanced by a lively mineral acidity and a dash of savoury spice. Early ripening Shiraz on sandy loam from our most Northern site. Harvested at a lower Baume to create a light pretty style with natural acidity. Harvested in the cool of the night. The grapes were crushed and held on skins until the ideal colour extraction had been achieved before being lightly pressed under inert conditions. Fermented in stainless steel vessels. Yeast strains that promote the natural berry characters were selected. Cool fermentation temperatures. The final blend was given a light fining before being filtered and prepared for bottling.
