Obtained from a well-balanced blend selection of Aglianico, Pallagrello Nero and Casavecchia, Silva Rubra is an important typical red wine produced by Cantine Rao. Pallagrello is an historical wine, appreciated by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon and then considered one of the best of the Kingdom, as reported by an ancient writing found on a historical tablet dating back to 1775, in Colline Caiatine fields. In the glass, Silva Rubra shows its peculiar intense ruby colour. 0n the nose, vanilla, spice and cocoa aromas introduce violet and soft fruit notes. Strong and elegant tannins give bold and structured round tones. It is perfect with structured first courses, grilled and braised red meat, and with mature cheese. Decant for about one hour and serve it at a temperature between 18 ° and 20 ° C (64.4 ° and 68 ° F).

Older vines and limestone-rich soil combine to make this a more structured, mineral and briny Moscato, manifesting a very refreshing and classy style. The nose is floral and fresh with the citric tang of lemons and limes. Lush and creamy at first, then loaded with a cocktail of ripe citrus, sweet herbs and honeyed apricot flavours, freshened by a mineral spine and a racy finish.

Château Filhot is set amongst the woods and fields of Sauternes and is one of the most beautiful estates in the region. No oak is used in the production of Filhot, only glass-fibre vats that contribute to the elegant structure of the wines, rarely becoming the uncious and full bodied wines that generally have a higher proportion of Semillon. The Filhot from the 2009 vintage is dominated by a subtle nutty note, most prominantly almond. The 2008 marks the 25th anniversary of Dalwhinnie Chardonnay in the Pyrenees in western Victoria, and the wine is still not missing a beat. With less oak used now than in previous vintages, the wine exhibits magnificent citrus and mineral flavours and aromas with a delicate honey flavour notes and texture. A truly elegant wine.
