Blue Pyrenees Shiraz is a wonderful cool-climate Shiraz that shows cardomon, cloves and blackberry. Palate has chocolate, soft tannins and balanced acid. Z Wine's Rustica Shiraz is an intense crimson red with purple hues followed by aromas of ripe cherry and red plum which are complimented by hints of pepper and spice with lifted perfumed notes. The palate is warm and full flavoured, displaying generous sweet red fruit, such as cherry, raspberry and plum. These fruits are couple with cedar spice notes and the soft mouth-filling tannins carry the fruit as well as providing structure and length to the wine. This wine is an exemplary example of a lifted, fruit filled Barossa Shiraz suitable for drinking in its youth.

Our Two Blocks Shiraz was matured in a combination of new American & second use French oak for 24 months. This gives the wine structure, complexity and a lift of chocolate oak flavour. The finish is smooth and lingering. Cellar for another 5-10 years to see the wine soften and develop further complexity. Winemaker’S Note: 2017 was a great year for both freshness of fruit and balance of spice and elegant tannins. This Shiraz is a great example of our cool climate style, being approachable and elegant with just a touch of oak. Vintage Note: A cool growing season and above average rainfall lead to a mild growing season that presented some challenges towards the end of harvest. Fortunately the rain cleared enough for the Shiraz to ripen and be picked just in time. It was the stand out variety of the season with the balance of spice and ripeness returning to a more traditional style cool climate wine.

The wine has aromas of fresh plum and blackberry fruit with floral notes and some savoury earthy oak spice. On the palate the wine is full flavoured, with flavours of mixed berries, floral herbs, earthy spice and background oak characters. Deep purple Dark cherries and blue fruits with undertones of stewed fruit and plums with a hint of tobacco. Medium to full palate weight, powerful flavours of spice, pepper and sumac. Structural powdery tannins provide a dry finish to compliment the dark fruits.
