The Balvenie Cask Finishes is a unique range of single malts created by David C. Stewart MBE, The Balvenie Malt Master. Cask Finishes gains its distinctive character from maturation in two distinct cask types in succession, a proprietary process pioneered by David in 1983 with The Balvenie Classic. For The Balvenie Thirty, he marries Traditional and European oak casks that have been matured for decades in order to craft a whisky of incredible sweetness and complexity. The Balvenie Thirty’s silky sweetness gives way to rich honey, mellow oaky tones and hints of candied orange peel. Smooth and honeyed on the nose with mellow oaky tones and hints of candied orange peel, great depth with rich dark chocolate, hints of plum, marzipan and caramelised pear and an exceptionally smooth and warming finish with gentle spice and lingering sweetness.

Glenglassaugh cask #3802 is a Pedro Ximénez cask. Filled to cask in 1972 and bottled at 47 years old, this presents an exceptionally rare and complex example of our coastal Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Of natural colour, non chill filtered, and matured in our coastal warehouses on the shores of Sandend Bay for over forty-seven years, it has exquisite notes of passion fruit and buttercream, kissed by the sea. A limited-edition 30-year-old single malt from Mortlach, Midnight malt was initially matured in a combination of refill American oak and European oak casks, before being finished in Bordeaux wine, Calvados and Guatemalan rum casks, then married and further matured in custom quarter casks. A release of just 350 limited bottles. NOSE A mellow nose with some initial prickle. This settles in time to reveal a savoury and faintly herbal top note, suggesting pork crackling sprinkled with dry sage. PALATE A richly winey, apple fruity and mouth-watering start delights the palate, backed by a long spicy intensity with a delicious black pepper note that really persists. FINISH Long, sweet and deep-flavoured, with a light peppery spiciness. With water, still sweet and softer, with the spicy heat joined by a suggestion of mint chocolate in the lingering aftertaste.

A Speyside single malt Scotch whisky as intriguing and extraordinary as Benriach could not have come to be without a unique whisky making heritage, dating from 1898, when founder John Duff built his distillery. Drawing upon decades of experience, Master Blender Rachel Barrie has skilfully combined some of our rarest malt to create Benriach The Forty. Fine bourbon casks made from American oak have gradually developed exquisite notes of honeyed pomelo and ripe stone fruits. This intricate character is interwoven with dark notes of chocolate, rich plum, and smooth walnut from port casks sourced from the Douro Valley in Portugal. The result is the ultimate expression of our signature, luscious, fruit-laden style. The colour is a deep bronze. The nose richly fruity, with the exquisite scent of sweet orange, plum, and honey pomelo laced with dark chocolate coated berries layered on smooth walnut and cherry liqueur. On the palate flavours of luscious orchard fruits, silky morello cherry, soft nectarine, stewed red apple, and white peach, lingering into the seductive velvety walnut and kumquat finish.
