The grapesfor this wine were picked from our 40 year old vines grown in the volcanic soilof the ancient Fordwich Sill. These low yielding mature vines produce ripe, concentrated fruitwhich results in a wine with excellent regional and varietal characters.

A pale pink hue is the sophisticated introduction to a fragrant floral bouquet, with hints of citrus and a distinct aroma of red berry friuts on the nose. These elegant scents are celebrated on the palate in a freshness which is as intense as it is enchanting, and rendered joyful by the fluttering bubbles which brings out the wine's innate lightness and drinkability and provided a delightfully lingering finish to its delicate aromas.

Porta Dante Prosecco has a bright straw yellow hue and lingering streams of tiny bubbles usher in subtle aromatics of white flowers with apple and peach-like white-fleshed fruits. Santa Margherita Prosecco di Valdobbiandene has a very fine, persistent bead and scents of apples and pears that act as a prelude to the flavors of ripe stone fruit with a bit of melon and orange. Fresh and lively with a long, dry, yeasty finish. Bargain.

The vineyards that produced this appealing wine are situated near Controguerra, Abruzzo, at 250 metres altitude, inland from the Adriatic coast, halfway up the boot of Italy. The pecorino grape is not widely known in Australia. It is believed to be a native of the Marche region. The name may derive from the fact that the grapes were grown in hilly country, the same country that sheep were raised - pecora means "sheep" in Italian. Pecorino wine is easy going, with straw colouring, displaying distinct floral notes, minerality, field herbs, stonefruit and citrus. It is currently enjoying a surge of popularity in Italy and other parts of the world.

This "Ice" Prosecco is made in the extra dry style, i.e. slightly sweeter than standard Brut Prosecco's. Presented in a stunning, all white bottle, it is fresh and fragrant on the nose, with floral, fruity aromas and sweet citrus flavours on the palate. Gentle, creamy mouthfeel, with a nice pop of sweet fruit on the finish.
