Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Haut Lieu Moelleux (Museum Release)

“The residual sugar is 90 g/l, says Jean-Bernard Berthomé. The aromatics, despite the vintage’s reputation as a heatwave year, are spot on. This is classic evolving première tri Vouvray, a melange of limestone minerals drizzled with a a sweet honey caramel, intertwined with a wonderful citrus freshness and lift. It seems delightfully promising. The palate, I am happy to report, follows on from this first impression quite beautifully, the fruit and minerals resting on a bed of sweet caramel, and although this is not a vintage rich in botrytis I do detect a little note here too. The wine as a whole maintains a very fine balance too throughout. A very impressive, broad, imposing wine with a long and cleanly balanced finish. Famille Hugel Pinot Blanc Classic

Crystalline and pure colour with a light green shimmer and silver flashes. The nose is refreshing and precise with green apples, white peaches, fresh moss and spring flowers, such as primrose and daffodil. On the palate it is a well-balanced and pleasant dry wine which is also fresh and pleasingly well-rounded. It is lively and zippy, but still retaining subtlety and elegance. A fine successor to the previous vintage. The grapes are taken in small tubs to the presses, which are filled by gravity, without any pumping or other mechanical intervention. After pressing, the must is decanted for a few hours, then fermented in temperature-controlled barrels or vats (at 18 to 24°C). The wine is racked just once, before natural clarification during the course of the winter. The following spring, the wine is lightly filtered just before bottling, and the bottles are then aged in our cellars until released.

Fruit for this wine was hand-selected from our single-site Yarra Valley vineyard. The wine was aged in both seasoned French barriques and state of the art stainless steel tanks for four months. Pale straw in colour, notes of green apple and citrus with hints of blossom. The palate is generous with firm acidity.

DeMorgenzon DMZ Chenin Blanc

Planted on east facing slopes for optimal exposure to morning sunlight and Granitic soils resulting in highly concentrated fruit with excellent natural acidity. The concentration of thie wine is lifted by the mouth-watering acidity bringing balance and long length. Flavours of Green apple, apricot, peach, hints of honey and floral aromas characterise a fresh nose.

DeMorgenzon Reserve Chenin Blanc

High altitude and the cooling breeze from the ocean facilitates slow ripening, leading to complexity and nuance in this wine. The vines from which the grapes are grown are low-yeilding old vines. This is a world class Chenin Blanc that beautifully displays white flowers, stone fruit, pear, orange blossom, honesy toast and caramel. It's an excellent balance between luscious fruit and crisp, mouth-watering acidity.
