Shingleback Single Vineyard Grenache is a true expression of the McLaren Vale region, crafted from select handpicked bush vine grenache parcels of grapes grown in our Shingleback Vineyard located between Mclaren Vale and Mclaren Flat planted in 1947. Its sandy loam over clay soil allows roots to travel down to the clay layer where the moisture is trapped allowing vines to survive with very minimum irrigation. This wine displays blueberry and raspberry aromas with hints of black earthy tones, its long silky tannins balance the vibrant red fruit flavours, resulting in a very approachable wine to enjoy now or cellar carefully for up to 10 years

Shiraz and Grenache blend beautifully in many of the warmer parts of South Australia. This AAA is Paxton's 9th release, crafted similar to a Rhone-style wine yet it is packed with Au's Terroir. Crafted from two unique McLaren Vale vineyards as our celebration of Grenache - 1947 planted Grenache bush vines growing in deep sand and 1990 planted single-wire trellised vines.Medium deep, dark cherry in colour. Lifting fragrant aromas of strawberry/raspberry jujube, rose petal, lavender, cinnamon and star anise. Flavours of dark cherry, pomegranate and chocolate earth flow through the medium weight palate. Fine tannins and natural acidity focus the fruit into the moreish, savoury finish.
