Leconfield regularly produce fine full flavoured Shiraz. This release from McLaren Vale shows spicy berry-like varietal character with some minty-chocolately regional hints balanced tannins and well judged oak.

Clear, bright, light crimson purple. Crisp and lively florals, roses and lavender. Red berries, a touch of cinnamon and strawberry, with a hint of spicy talk. Juicy, opulent red fruits and a lovely warming spice. Sweet, bright cherries compliment soft, abundant chalky tannins. Great length of flavour.

Grenache has always been a cornerstone of d'Arenberg's red wines and this is one of the benchmarks of the variety. Produced from old low yielding vines it is a wine of great character and intensity. Showing none of the sickly confectionery characters that can plague this variety, it's all about elegant, savoury spice.

Church Block first appeared back in 1972 under the watchful eye of Greg Trott and was taken by one of the original vineyards that ran alongside the small Bethany Church, across the road from Wirra Wirra's old ironstone cellars. Over the last 4 decades, it has become one of Australia's favourites. The 2005 Church Block is showing just what a little patience can do. After six years, the velvet texture is the dominant feature with integrated tannin taking a backseat.

This small batch Grenache from McLaren Vale was a combination of three unique vineyards with different fermentation methods to create a wine with layers and complexity. It was handcrafted to produce a wine portraying the gently sloping sandy loam landscape with tranquil tree lined creek peaceful vineyard views in which it is grown. This refined and elegant, yet bold McLaren Vale Grenache was produced to showcase one of McLaren Vales greatest varietals. It uses small amounts of wholebunch in the ferment to lift the spiciness of the wine and reign in the richness. A portion of carbonic maceration adds lift and fragrance while the balance destemmed only gives power and drive. Blackcurrant, plums and hints of raspberries are entwined with spice and pepper notes. Well balanced acidity and refined velvety tannins combine with generous fruit length to create a comp.

Yangarra Estate Circle Grenache - Bright, fresh, and fruit-driven, this vibrant Nouveau-style Grenache is crafted for early enjoyment. Grown in the elevated, sandy soils of Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale, it showcases wild strawberry, cherry blossom, and subtle spice aromas.

APPEARANCE: Beautifully intense purple colour with aromatics that jump out of the glass. AROMA: Pure fruited aromas of redcurrant and cinnamon follow through on to the palate with fresh acidity keeping the wine lively and vibrant. PALATE: A small percentage of whole bunch fermentation in the wine adds a savoury element and herbal notes. The Welkin Grenache is a light bodied wine that works very well in an aperitivo setting.

Bright dark black garnet colour. Lively, spicy aromas and flavours of blackberry pie a la mode, spicy praline, and mole with an oily, tangy, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a warming, subtle, breezy spiced cherries, chocolate mint and nuts, and cedar finish with firm, chewy tannins and moderate oak.

This vintage 2016 red wine is a 48% Grenache, 47% Shiraz and 5% Mourvedre (or Mataro) blend harvested from McLaren Vale. It is a wonderful combination of the different varieties: enjoy red fruit aromas and musk from Grenache, Mourvedres minerality and gamey notes on the palate, and structure and length of the palate provided by Shiraz. Experiencing all these wonderful characteristics makes it a fun wine that will immediately satisfy your senses. This exquisite red blend pairs beautifully with mature hard cheeses, spicy cuisine, beef and lamb. It can be enjoyed now, but additional cellaring until 2022 will also be a rewarding option.
