Lights Valley wines commemorate Colonel William Light and his discovery and naming of Barossa Valley in 1837. Barossa Valley was named in memory of the British victory over the French in the Battle of Barrosa in 1811. However, due to clerical error the valley was misspelt Barossa. Very deep black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark plum and liquorice are followed by some ripe blackcurrant, vanillin oak, dark chocolate and earth notes. Rich and plummy the medium bodied palate has a fleshy feel with some liquorice, vanillin cedar, earth and spice characters also evident. Velvet smooth tannins with a plummy finish of modest length.
