McWilliam's Mount Pleasant Maurice O'Shea Shiraz continues lead the pack of great Hunter Valley Shiraz. A lovely return to old form, this Maurice has a striking purple hue to it in the glass. To the nose aromas of liquorice and spice with hints of cedar will beguile. Layers of complex flavours dance across the palate including savoury, spicy dark fruits like dark plums and cherries. A classic of classics.

Put a quadruple Gold, 96pt Hunter Valley Shiraz Cabernet on your table. It’s from Hungerford Hill’s always impressive Bryan Currie, and boasts: “Incredible depths of dark, delicious fruit flavours make this wine easy to love. The shiraz imparts a beautiful plushness to the blend while the cabernet provides structure. Bright and harmonious, with ripe, chewy, integrated tannins. Excellent balance and even flow. Good ageing potential. 96pts. (Toni Paterson, The Halliday Wine Companion).” Shanteh Wale, WinePilot adds that finds it “A well balanced wine in almost every vintage I have tried…93pts” and Huon Hook calls it “Very tidy red wine.93pts” in The Real Review.

Teusner Albert Shiraz is made from old vines in the northern Barossa; rich black fruits and tarry cassis with smoky undertones, the finish is long and luscious. Could easily be cellared for the medium term.

Deep brick red in colour this classic Hunter red by Mount Pleasant offers blackberry leather and cedary oak aromas. The Rosehill's palate is mouth filling and satisfying with spicy sweet fruit flavours and firm tannins on the finish.

This wine is crafted from hand picked Shiraz grapes from two of the oldest vineyards in the Hunter Valley. Quality fruit produces a beautifully rich and seamless palate of sweet red and blackberry fruit, combined with dense vanilla oak and a chocolatey finish. Ideal fo long term cellering.

Deep red in colour with black pepper and currant aromas typical of this region. The bouquet has soft Red cherries and mulberry fruits with mocha and savoury spice. Intense mulberry and blackberry fruit core with complex savoury spice on the palate with a hint of integrated oak with soft and silky tannins o the finish.

Krinklewood Shiraz is a deep plum coloured wine from Hunter Valley. The bouquet of this classic red offers spiced aromas of plums, cherries, forest timber and dried apple. The well-structured palate exhibits velvety-smooth tannins layered over vibrant fruit characters. The wine has a bright, engaging and lengthy finish. This medium-bodied wine will continue to develop with careful cellaring. Pair it with barbecues, grilled meat, lamb chops or pork tenderloin.

The colour is dark crimson. It has aromas of lifted red and blue berry and oak spice. It is elegantly structured with dark plum and red fruits with a hint of blueberry, integrated oak carried by silky tannins and supple acidity.
