Recent years has seen a growing trend for the luscious perfumed styles like those emanating out of the northern Rhône and the Bin 138 produces a brilliant example. Ruby garnet in colour. Bright, red cherry and raspberry fruit on the nose. Focused red berry flavours on the palate, juicy mid palate with pepper and spice notes. Generous fleshy fruit, supported by high quality French oak.

Aromas of plum and dark berry fruits with hints of spice, mataro earthiness, licorice and dark chocolate. Flavours of spice and bright red fruits, some savoury earthiness, plum and rich black fruit with oak complexity.

The Z Wine Rustica Grenache has a vibrant purple colour with a youthful hue. A perfumed bouquet bursting with violet, crushed strawberry and raspberry aromas coupled with subtle white pepper and star anise notes making a truly intriguing and inviting Grenache wine. Ideal to consume while young.

Ripe old vine Shiraz from the heart of the Barossa contributes weight and texture Grenache adding cherry toffee earthy characters and solid savoury tannins. Will reward careful cellaring for a decade.

Lovely floral and spicy complexities, with hints of fruits of the forest, pepper and ginger snap. The palate displays the full range of dark berries, Mediterranean herbs, and savoury pan jus elements. It is tight and compact, intense and deep, firm and taut, with nicely measured grip and tremendous length. A powerhouse of a wine, but also one possessed of great elegance.

An interesting blend from the Barossa that is sourced from two vineyards - the Grenache adds spice and lift while the Tempranillo adds savoury characters and texture to the palate.
