As the custodian of some of the world's oldest Grenache vines, Marco Cirillo has been called the guru of Grenache! The 1850s Grenache, as the name suggests, has fruit that comes from vines that date back over 160 years. Truly remarkable flavours of red fruit, earth and leather notes. This bright, juicy Grenache displays peppery notes, along with raspberry, cherry and wild strawberries on the palate. Balancing blueberry and sandalwood, it finishes with a floral high note. Absolutely scrumptious.

The 2015 Shotfire Quartage is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. These are the classic grapes of France’s Bordeaux region, but this is definitely a Barossa wine – there’s no mistaking those intense, ripe fruit flavours. The fruit comes from three of Thorn Clarke's prime Barossa vineyards: St Kitts in the northern part of the Barossa, Kabininge on the Barossa floor near Tanunda, and Milton Park in the Barossa’s elevated Eden Valley. It's rich and full-flavoured, a lavish melange of ripe red and black fruits, delicious spice and creamy, toasty oak on a long, luscious finish.

SCHWARZ WINE COMPANY Meta Grenache, Barossa Valley This is an old-vine, Barossa Valley-floor Grenache from various sub-regions. Grapes are hand-picked, up to 90% whole-bunch fermented, and the wine is matured in tank and old oak for a few months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Meta Grenache is a fresh and vibrant style with strawberry and red licorice flavours, typically showing juicy, meaty, mouth-filling red fruit flavours plus hints of smoke, roasted nuts and exotic spice. Old-vine fruit is used to create a thoroughly contemporary wine. Less than 300 dozen produced each year.
