Fifth-generation South Australian winemaker and grape grower Richard Angove fell in love with the Tamar Valley while working vintage in '08, but it took him a decade to realise his ambition to work with a small group of growers to produce wines in the region. We are very proud to have a Chromy exclusive, as Tasmania’s highly celebrated wines almost never leave the state! This rather regal Pinot Noir takes its name from the source of its premium fruit – the Marchington Vineyard, planted on the Marchington estate, by a man called John Smith, the alleged illegitimate son of a King of England, shipped to Tasmania in the 1800s. The wine displays a vibrant red colour. On the nose rose petal and black cherry aromas are supported by attractive stemmy, whole bunch characters. The palate is soft and round with sweet fruit flavours and a creamy texture. Bright natural acidity provides a crisp lingering finish.

Devil's Corner Resolution Pinot Noir is a full bodied style of Pinot Noir showing blackberry, sour cherry and hints of cedar from the quality French oak. The wine displays a juicy fruit driven middle palate with a crisp savoury texture and fine grained tannins. Given the wines depth and structure it is well worth putting some away in the cellar and looking at it again in 5 to 8 years.

Strelley Farm Estate is located in the heart of Tasmanias Coal River Valley wine region and is connected to the historical town of Richmond by the oldest bridge in Australia, the Richmond Bridge. Perfumed aromas redolent of ripe raspberry and red cherry are nuanced by brooding dark plum and subtle oak spice. The palate is supple and lithe with upfront appeal and a long, concentrated fruit core framed by silky tannins and bright acidity to finish.
