Nick Glaetzer hands on winemaking experiences both home and abroad (including a stint in Burgundy) have been applied to this elegant and complex Tasmanian Pinot Noir. A luscious nose of strawberries, plums and savoury spice lead to the supple palate, full of cherry and blackberry flavours. Balanced tannin complete the wine.

Avancé is the first red from Glaetzer-Dixon to advance from barrel to bottle each season. Working and travelling through many wine-making regions on the European Continent gave Nick, their wine maker, insight into the lighter wine styles, keenly sought after by the local village people for their fresh fruit driven flavours.

In the glass, Barringwood Estate Pinot Noir shows a beautiful and dusky plum colour, with pinkish edges. The bouquet exhibits aromas of cherries, violets and vanilla, fusing with cherry and earthy notes. The bright and fruity palate bursts with spicy oak, balanced by soft and savoury tannins. A thrilling must-try red, and a name with a very colourful story behind it. Josef Chromy set up his winery in Tasmania in 2007 aged 76, having escaped from Czechoslavakia in 1950. We are very proud to have a Chromy exclusive, as Tasmania’s highly celebrated wines almost never leave the state! This rather regal Pinot Noir takes its name from the source of its premium fruit – the Marchington Vineyard, planted on the Marchington estate, by a man called John Smith, the alleged illegitimate son of a King of England, shipped to Tasmania in the 1800s. In memory of Ian ”Lee” Patrick Carr, an outstanding dad, friend and viticulturist. This unblended single origin Pinot Noir was harvested from one manually maintained vineyard block of the family estate, 33 years after planting. Matured in French oak. Bursting aromas of dark berries, cherries and orange zest. Silky smooth and lively acid, dried herbs and red currant. Match with grilled meat or strong cheese.

After 30 years of maturation, the Charles Reuben Estate vineyard expanded in 2019 with the addition of a distillery, embarking on a new journey with spirits. The new venture led to the creation of this Tasmanian vintage fortified wine, crafted with premium grape spirit. The Estate’s vineyard consistently produces sought-after, full-bodied, deep dark red Pinot Noir grapes. The result is a well balanced, smooth, and richly charactered fortified wine, bursting with intense dark berry flavours. True to its origins, this wine is made without any artificial colouring or flavouring.
