Sourced from up to 100 year old bush vine Grenache. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a bright red hue. Sailing from the glass are vibrant aromatics of raspberry, red cherry and red liquorice infused with fresh herbs followed by some delicate spicy earth notes. Rich succulent dark raspberry, ripe cherry and red liquorice fruits are delivered with excellent intensity across the mid weighted palate. Subtle notions of scorched earth and peppered dried herbs lie underneath. Polished tannins finishing with a nicely balanced youthful freshness and long juicy aftertaste. It’s no surprise this style won Gold. The Barry Family are legends in the Clare Valley, and have used their rich soils and expert skills to produce this truly stunning 100% malbec. Aromas of violets, redcurrants, maraschino cherries and lavender flood the nose. The flavours are plentiful with blueberries, liquorice, violets, dark chocolate and black tea. The wine is full of energy and juicy fruit supported by fine gravelly tannins and fresh cranberry juice acidity. This 100% Malbec shows the potential of the variety to stand on its own and produce a delicious wine with vibrancy and elegance. The first vineyard that my grandfather, Jim Barry, planted in 1964 at our Armagh property was Malbec (900 vines). Since that time, Malbec has played an important part in our winemaking journey and is predominantly blended with Cabernet Sauvignon. Crafted in typical Mr Mick style, this wine has subtle French oak, smooth tannins, distinctive varietal characters of strawberries and red cherries, a hint of spice and a long lingering finish.

The fruit for this wine was sourced from premier blocks on the Taylor family estate in the Clare Valley. This is an elegant wine with immediate flavours of boysenberry, blackberry and then more subtle choc-mint and spice. The palate is bright, vibrant and juicy with a precise fine tannin line. The oak maturation brings depth and length to the palate. The wine is very well balanced with well integrated oak and the finish is persistent and imminently enjoyable.

This premium Tempranillo is rich with lifted cherry and strawberry on the palate with gentle cedar notes. Well structured tannins complete a seamless, vibrant finish.

This wine is light in style, packed with juicy raspberry and strawberry fruit flavours, refreshing natural acidity and soft silky tannins.
