The Syrah (Shiraz) is made with traditional winemaking using natural yeast fermentation over a four week period with 18 months barrel maturation in 20% new French oak. Intense dark cherry and mulberry fruits are allied to cedar and roasted spice aromas. The complex palate provides tannins of supple texture with a lingering length of flavour persistence. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Thorpe & Smart Shiraz is a celebration of individuality, history and regionality from Yangarras estate vineyard in McLaren Vale. This wine pays homage to the prominent pioneering families of the region to be a true local you must either be a Thorpe or a Smart. The elevated blocks, with their variations of ancient soils and cool air flowing down from the nearby ranges, produce an elegant Shiraz with finesse. While full flavoured, there is intrigue of perfume, bright primary fruit, and soft silky tannins, pairing well with roasted red meat and aromatic spices.

An aromatic nose of blueberries, dark cherry fruits, floral and spice notes. Medium to full bodied, blueberry, plum and dark cherry fruits burst onto the palate. Vibrant fruit combines with notes of red flowers, cacao and layers of cooking spice. The hallmark sandy/biscuity tannins of Blewitt Spring linger on the palate.

Heirloom Vineyards was conceived in vintage 2000, when a young winemaking student caught the eye of a silly old wine judge. Re-tasted on 07/06/2022 Magnificent colour displaying a pitch black core with a very deep black dark red hue. Pronounced black cherry, liquorice and black plum aromas are overlaid by scorched earth and smoked meats followed by spicy vanillin cedar and pepper notes. Tightly built rich black cherry and liquorice flavours dominate over inky earth, lightly scorched vanillin cedar, dried meats and blackpepper. Dry grippy finish with tightly grained tannins. Rich yet elegant and muscular in its feel. Good underlying power with a long black cherry, liquorice, smoky vanillin cedar, dried meats and earthy pepper aftertaste. Cellar 8-10 years. Alc. 14.5%

The brilliant 2020 Maison Eros McLaren Vale Shiraz is rich and full, showing intense plum and dark berries with elegant savoury earthy tannins that round out the mid palate. The wine finished with great balance and length. Characterised by a depth and intensity only achievable with old vine fruit. The subtle integrated oak and textural tannins will soften as the wine ages.

This is old vine McLaren Vale Shiraz skillfully blended with older vine grenache. The palate is full of spice and black fruits with an alluring undertone of red fruits dervived from the significant grenache content. This is the sixth release of this multi award winning red that is sure to please everyone in the room.
