Sourced from vines planted in 1947 this wine was matured in a combination of French and American oak for 18 months. The brilliant 2020 Maison Eros McLaren Vale Shiraz is rich and full, showing intense plum and dark berries with elegant savoury earthy tannins that round out the mid palate. The wine finished with great balance and length. Characterised by a depth and intensity only achievable with old vine fruit. The subtle integrated oak and textural tannins will soften as the wine ages.

The Syrah patch was planted in the mid 1940’s and yields a microscopic 250-300 dozen per annum. The Sandown Syrah patch is west facing and features significant ironstone content. The site yields a signature incense like spice throughout the fruit and makes for a highly exotic expression of Blewitt Springs Syrah.
