Henschke Keyneton Estate Shiraz Cabernet Malbec
The Keyneton Euphonium epitomises the Henschke winemaking style. Typically this elegantly proportioned wine shows ripe dark berry, dried herb spicy aromas, plush concentrated flavours, velvety textures and long sinuous finish. The wine is a Shiraz dominant blend with minor components of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the Eden and Barossa Valleys. This wine is named after the Barossa Hills village of Keyneton, the centre of the Henschke family’s cultural and working life for over 150 years. Maturation takes place in a small proportion of new oak hogsheads with the remainder seasoned French and American oak hogsheads for 18 months. The 'Euphonium' moniker was first introduced with the 2006 vintage.

Henschke Cyril Cabernet Sauvignon
Concentration is the key word for this wine. Super ripe fruit, dense and rich, matured for an extended time in toasty new oak. Complex, vibrant aromas of violets, plums, blackberries and cassis with dried rosemary, thyme and oregano nuances, and a hint of beef stock, cedar and star anise spice. The palate is powerful yet incredibly finely structured with layers of plums, blackberries and red currants, guided by elegant acidity and tannins that integrate with the fruit and lead to a long, fine, beguiling finish. Deep crimson with violet hues. Exotic and perfumed aromas of tamarillo, black cherry, boysenberry and black currant are supported by cinnamon, anise, rosehip and dried herbs. The palate is at once plush and savoury with flavours of freshly cut plum, red currant, cacao nib and black pepper. Elegantly structured, the balanced acidity and fine tannins provide a beautiful mouthfeel with a long, focused finish.

Eden Valley’s Mountadam Vineyards was established in 1972 and is nestled on a unique rocky outcrop ranging in elevation up to 550m. The vineyards were founded by David Wynn, who is credited with several milestones in winemaking, including the creation of the wine cask and planting the first contour vineyard in Australia. “More concentrated. More intense. A firmer weave of coffee grind and clove to bitter chocolate-doused tannins, too, with a darker fruit persuasion than its sassier brethren. More typically Australian, I suppose.
