Dandelion Vineyards Menagerie of the Barossa GSM

Intriguing aromas of rose petals and a summer pudding of lifted red fruits, berries and a hit of cinnamon and Asian spice. The palate is opulent, with intense red berries balanced by soft velvety tannins and supple oak with great balance from the acid reknown in Barossa Grenache. 'The cold, wet 2011 vintage hit the Barossa Valley particularly hard, wiping out huge tracts of vineyards. Dandelion's blend, then, came as a delightful surprise a tender, juicy, seductive drop that made the bottle seem too small. It's a blend of grenache (85 per cent), shiraz (10 per cent) and mataro (aka mourvedre or monastrell). The back label hints at how winemaker Elena Brooks and the Dandelion crew saved the day, "handpicking selected bunches" (that is, avoiding the rotten ones) of the three varieties for co-fermentation and ultimate success. What a moreish wine this is'. - Canberra Times, 15 May 2013, by Chris Shanahan.

Miles From Nowhere White Label Cabernet Merlot

'This is a more serious statement of the cabernet merlot blend. It has a firm spine running deep into the fleshy fruit. Lots of blackcurrant and black olive cabernet working with the richer fruitcake depth of the merlot. Firmish tannins and good oak treatment. Long finish with a dry sappiness.' - 91/100 - West Australian, 15 May 2014, by Ray Jordan.

Running With Bulls Barossa Garnacha

Pouring a gorgeous raspberry hue with aromas of fresh coriander and grated nutmeg. Silky in texture with a juicy palate comprising strawberries and blood orange. Partial whole bunch fermented delivering a subtle amount of warming spice to finish. Sam Wigan started out in the wine industry by working a vintage with his father at Peter Lehmann wines before heading to Geyser Peak in California. Returning to Australia with the winemaking bug, Sams style involves letting the varietal characteristics of the grapes shine through, by using natural/wild fermentation and malolactic fermentation, with minimal additions and no finings. Having a nice meal with friends and family is one of his favourite things, so he crafts the wines to be fun, drinkable and best enjoyed with food and good company. Langmeil Three Gardens GSM

Barossa vignerons used to call their vineyards 'gardens', such was the care they were (and still are) given! The Three Gardens a classic Rhone blend that draws on the complementary character of Shiraz, Mourvèdre and Grenache.

Turkey Flat Butchers Block Mataro Shiraz Grenache

The Butchers Block is a traditional Barossa blend made with grapes selected from the Turkey Flat vineyards, including some from the original old vine plantings. It is a blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvédre (Mataro). 'Part of the grapes come from the home vineyard that has some of the oldest vines in the Barossa, planted by Peter Schulz's great-grandfather Ernest Schulz. The wine has the drive, focus and intensity often missing from this Barossa blend; that said, there are both black and distinctly red fruit components, and the tannins are firm. Give it 10 years, then line it up with a top Rhone Valley example. Outrageous value' - Rating 94/100. - James Halliday.

Wirra Wirra Mrs Wigley Rose

With strawberry, melon and flower petal flavours this Mrs. Wigley fits the bill of a real racy Rose. It's made from Grenache, has a touch of sweetness, a zesty kick and finishes squeaky clean, leaving a refreshing zing in the mouth.

Vino Intrepido Inherited Trait Metodo Ancestrale Lambrusco

Lambrusco is both the name of a wine from Italy, as well as a family of grape varieties used in the production of this wine. Though genetically connected each variety brings something a bit different to a wine, hence why they are almost always blends. The most traditional Lambrusco wines complete their fermentation in bottle, whereby the CO2 generated as a by-product is trapped in the bottle. Though slightly spritzy these are not aperitif wines, designed to be had with the food famous in the Emilia region.
