Being attuned with the vineyard – its cycles, its idiosyncrasies, its aspect and of course reaching its full potential. Margaret River is a very special place to grow wine and our winemaker needs to develop an intimate relationship with the vineyards from which we source these grapes. Their history, their microclimates, their constraints, their nuances all need to be respected and harnessed to deliver into the winery the very best expression of that vineyard. Grapes that can be transformed into wines of great depth and character – always honestly reflecting their sense of place. Only the finest parcels of fruit make the grade for these Fidium wines, with each wine carefully blended from the most premium barrel selections.

The palate has lovely expression, medium bodied red and blue fruits are supported by well-integrated, subtle tannins, perfect for a range of cuisines, especially the backyard BBQ. Representing our finest selection of Shiraz from our estate vineyards expressing clearly varietal and vintage, this wine is the pinnacle for us of this noble grape in a cool elegant corner of Australia. Bearing the dark spice and forest floor characters which are hallmarks of Margaret River, wrapped in a fine textured umami envelope of goodness, this wine takes us on a wonderful journey, of which we are merely taking our first steps. Concentrated and vibrant on the palate with a rich diversity of black and red fruit intertwined with nutmeg, cinnamon and sweet spices. The mouthfeel is a lovely balance between powdery, chalky tannins and a playful acidity, finishing with great length and lingering notes of cedar and dried herbs.

In the glass: Deep, dense purple.On the nose: Cassis, mulberry and black plum with a touch of bay leaf and vanillin oak. On the palate: Showcases the Malbec grape with powerful black fruits, bay and herb touches, powerful tannin frame and savoury oak in the background. A lovely example that is really concentrated yet medium weight and generous.

The ripe grapes used to produce Credaro 5 Tales Shiraz were destemmed, moved to static tanks, and immediately inoculated with a yeast strain. The resulting wine shows a lively crimson red colour, and exudes lifted aromas of mulberries, sweet vanilla and mocha hints from its mesmerising nose. These fragrances make way for a soft palate offering cherry and dark plum flavours. Balanced by fine tannins, the juicy palate culminates in a finale marked by creamy oak nuances. This intense red wine can be cellared for 5 to 8 years from vintage to develop bottle aged flavours. Drink it with sausage rolls, beef and quince stew, or chocolate pavlova to appreciate its intense berry flavours to the fullest.
