House of Arras Grand Vintage is at the pinnacle of Australian sparkling wine! The guiding principles of blending are the achievement of harmony and consistency. The White Foil blend is traditionally composed from around 80 still base wines, drawn from different vineyard sites (crus), grape varieties and vintage years. The blend contains approximately one third of each three grape varieties of Champagne. Pinot Noir contributes body, depth of character and life extending tannins, Pinot Meunier adds youthful freshness, vigour and plump fruit character while Chardonnay gibes lightness, elegance and firmness.

Crafted by chief winemaker Ed Carr, House of Arras Grand Vintage 2nd Disgorgement 2009 showcases the exceptional longevity of Tasmanian sparkling wine. Sourced from cool climate Tasmanian vineyards, this blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir underwent primary fermentation with partial French oak maturation. This second disgorgement spent over a decade ageing on lees prior to disgorgement. Extended tirage builds complex layers of toasted brioche, roasted nuts and citrus curd around a core of driving natural acidity. It stands as a benchmark of Australian prestige sparkling, delivering remarkable depth, poise and value for your cellar.

Eileen Hardy was a pioneer of the Australian wine industry and the inspiration beind this iconic range of wines, including this inaugural release of a Pinot Noir. Unashamadely Burgudnian in style with a dedication to terroir which has seen fruit being harvested from both Victoria's Yarra Valley and Tasmania has seen a wine of not only purity and elegance, but one of power and richness.

Lanson has all the history and experience of 250 years behind it to produce this truly remarkable vintage Champagne that delivers more for your dollar than any other vintage Champagne on the shelves. Wonderful linear acidity that is as taut as a high-wire complimented by a rush of citrus blossom. Remarkable.

Bright light golden color with a vivid mousse. Rather complex and layered nose, vinous with (perhaps oak) roasted hazelnut, yellow fruit, apricot, fresh butter and brioche, rather white burgundy like on the nose. The palate is well-built with a bright freshness and layers of ripe stone fruit underlined by pastry notes and fresh butter with a long and lingering finish. Nice. Bright light golden colour. High intensity and fine purity on the nose with youthful stone fruit like apricot, peach with ripe citrus, crushed nuts and some autolytic or buttery hints. The palate is well-balanced in its bone dry style, very fresh and salivating with good extract, fresh yellow fruit, citrus, some nutty notes and a long persistence. Very good.
