Old Jarvie The Enforcer Shiraz Mataro Grenache

Depth and intensity without over-extraction. Dark fruit richness, smoked nuts, seaside herbs, iodine. Compact and dense, yet with polished tannin, good acidity and silky length.

Superstate Winery Super Shiraz With Blackberry & Acai

Superstate Winery is dedicated to bringing variety and imagination to wine by challenging people's perceptions of what wine can be. Our Super Shiraz uses McLaren Vale grapes co-fermented with Blackberry & Acai raspberries to enhance all those naturally occuring flavours of a Shiraz that you love. The blackberry flavours shine through delivering a generous, full-bodied wine with a bit of spice.

Collaborations Shiraz by d'Arenberg

Good winter rains set the vines up well for the ensuing dry, warm growing season. The ripening period was characterised again by warm, dry condition without excessive heat which gifted us rich, opulent reds with well-balanced structure. The moderate weather allowed us to harvest fruit at optimal ripeness. The Shiraz in particular demonstrates rafts of blackberry, fennel and earthy characters, typical hallmarks of a classic d’Arenberg red. Produced in close partnership with some of Australia's finest vineyards, Collaborations is our new capsule range of five wines. After over a year of tasting and scoring, we arrived at our core collection of wines: a Brown Brothers prosecco, a Mr Riggs shiraz, a Yering Station chardonnay, a Pizzini pinot grigio and a Xanadu cabernet sauvignon. Step Rd Black Wing Shiraz

Grapes are picked on both colour and flavour development. Picked at night to enable a cold onset to fermentation. Once crushed they are then fermented for 7-10 days at around 20 degrees, in small batches using neutral yeast, to allow regional fruit expression. The ferment is then pressed using an airbag press. A soft pressing is used, so we do not extract the bitter tannin, producing a fruit driven style of wine. After we have pressed the wine, it is allowed to go through natural malolactic fermentation. Following maturation the wine is blended and prepared for bottling.Dark plum with crimson highlights lifted aromas of blackberry, mocha and spiceLuscious red berry fruits complemented by mocha and subtle oak leading to a generous and well-structured palate. A vibrant wine with fine tannins, and a long finish.Aged in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months.

Shottesbrooke Expression Series Shiraz

Like the bouquet, flavours of ripe dark fruit carry through and add a subtle sweetness to the mid-palate. Hints of white pepper and charming sweet spice add complexity and appeal.

Sourced from various premium vineyards across the region, the wine simply shouts McLaren Vale! Loads of morello cherry and dark chocolate aromas and flavours are present along with silken tannin integration. A superb long length finishes off a masterstroke in regional expression.

Hastwell & Lightfoot Sands of Time Shiraz

Hastwell & Lightfoot is located in the world-renowned McLaren Vale region of South Australia. Established in 1988, we produce premium Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Tempranillo, Montepulciano, Grenache, Barbera, Vermentino and Fiano from our 40 acres of vineyard.

Chapel Hill The Parson Shiraz

Chapel Hill's Michael Fragos loves using The Parson Shiraz to showcase McLarenVale's diversity and varietal character. The Shallow soils over livestone in maritime influenced vineyards between McLaren Vale and Masline Beach and also around Bowering Hill, provide explosive blueberries and liquorice with finesse and a wonderfully framing tannin structure. Up in the foothills of the Mount Lofty ranges, a Kangarilla vineyard offers Indian spice complexities that many higher priced wines would simply love to have. The added length and savoury tannins of this component and the use of some French oak result in a beguiling final release that is extraordinary.

Haselgrove Cul Stor Shiraz

It’s safe to say this wine is a ‘shoe-in’. Multiple vintages of this exact vino have rushed into our warehouse and zoomed straight back out and to your front door faster than you can say ‘shiraz blended with cab sav and a splash of cab franc’. At its core, we have all the plush dark berries, plums and chocolatey goodness that you’d expect from Mclaren Vale. But the blend of cabernets is what lifts this drop way above entry level, firm tannins and a liveliness on the back palate provide wonderful length and serious structure; perfect to pair with your good old fashioned Sunday roast lamb with all the trimmings.

Gemtree Dragon's Blood Shiraz

With the Southern Ocean coastline just minutes from Gemtree's vineyards, the maritime influence runs deep at this winery. Couple this with the certified organic vineyards that are tended by hand and you have a perfect recipe for a bold and full-bodied Shiraz; the Dragon's Blood McLaren Vale Shiraz. Choosing sites that offer the greatest varietal expression, concentration and finesse, the wine then saw maturation in French oak of sizes ranging from barriques (225L) to puncheons (500L) for 12 months. The result is a foreboding Shiraz that displays notes of blueberry, blackcurrant, aniseed and balancing earthen touch. Ideal served on its own to fully appreciate the rich and complex flavours but also at home when paired with French cutlets and slow cooked duck.
